Re: On Things, "This and That"
Another random observation- in Bollywood movies, if a male and female character want to express love, there is ‘gaana’. In Hollywood movies, for the same thing, there is ‘Bajaana’

Re: On Things, "This and That"
Quote:
But, what came out of this was this. Foot Binding. It was a practice in Song Dynasty in China several centuries ago, which alas dwindled down only in early 20th century. It probably was practised before but it became popular amongst the wealthy in Song Dynasty. Involving painful breaking of toes and binding them in a way it gives an arch to the feet, the practice was considered a symbol of wealth. Its painful to walk but then, rich dont need to really walk do they? Without going into gory details, let me assure you its (mis)interpreted as making woman's walk beautiful. The process starts when the arch of the foot did not have a chance to fully develop, usually between ages 4-9. Accidentally mistaking Korean's as Chinese has its own benefits you see? Only later I came to know the person who thought he poops white poop was actually Korean! Oh well, now at least I know a process called foot binding existed. |

As soon as you met, Beatrice died. That makes me think that you ate Beatrice. Shakti's guess may be correct.

Re: On Things, "This and That"
Ever wondered what Michael Jackson would have named his ranch/mansion if J.M Barrie didnt create Peter Pan? Well, I have.
Playing pipes, interacting with fairies, mermaids and all things beautiful and innocent is what Pan is known for in his Neverland. In MJ's world, a world created just for the beauty, Neverland seems like an apt name. If it weren't Neverland, how about The Shire? Would J R R Tolkein approve that his trade marked Hobbit town should go on MJ's ranch? It seems reasonable enough that MJ would pick The Shire as the name, given that Bilbo Baggins and pepet man, both imaginary and mythical would represent what MJ intended for his ranch. Thoughts? |

Re: On Things, "This and That"
Someone allegedly went beyond Hillary-
Here’s another casting couch allegation. Social activist Sandhya has accused Jeevitha Rajasekhar of supplying girls to her husband, actor Rajasekhar. In a TV show, she alleged that Jeevitha traps poor and rural girls and offered them the lure of money so that they sleep with Rajasekhar. She claimed she herself handled two such cases of hostel girls being lured to sleep with the actor. She also pooh-poohed Jeevitha’s claim that there is no casting couch in the film industry. link However, the lady in question has strongly rejected these allegations.
