I am referring to numerous times we discuss all the things under the sun whatever the title of the thread is. I am appreciating you for using your dhai-kilo ke haath and 2gms of akal for trying to be true to the thread by changing the title.

now I understand jest, this name calling does not appear to be in jest though. Its not the first time either - call me retard or dedh shaana or whatever.... whats the reason though?

I didn't want to discuss all immigration policy changes. I only wanted to discuss H-1B related immigration policy changes. I suggest you create a new thread to discuss all of Donald Trumps immigration policy changes.

Can you please edit the thread back to the original title?

Recommend the NRIs & their kids to take up these courses.

Re: Donald Trumpís immigration crackdown

Both parties in the USA have paid only lip service to the overall immigration issues.

There are many issues and not just one like H1B.
  • Illegal immigrants
  • Children born in the USA whose parents are illegal immigrants
  • Skilled labour - Note, H1B is not just for software professionals

And I am sure there are more issues.

H1Bs are needed not because there aren't enough Americans taking up computers but because there is a need for low cost labor in this field which the companies here want. Its purely about the balance sheet. And then those who come here from other countries and do their masters need some visa to stay and work here in their field. The US should come up with a separate visa category for these students who finish their masters and want to work.

And offcourse the H1B visa program needs reform.

seriously though, trump speaks about dealing these issues and he is immediately painted as a villain.

[*]Children born in the USA whose parents are illegal immigrants

on the other hand, is there really any point in deporting kids born in USA from illegal immigrants? The human element of this story is quite emotional... you are right, there is a need for low cost labour. Same in UK too.... people cry about migration but nobody has the answer to labour problems.

Being a late latif in this. The title (now back to original) specifically says 'No Extension to H1B visa'. It was clarified later on by Trump Sarkar that 'No Extension' is not happening. refer to the post by Shakti pai below.
In that case, should not we close the thread then (It was actually till i posted what i had in mind over a month back)

Re: Donald Trumpís Ďno extension to H-1B visaí proposal may affect thousands of Indian professionals

Every day there are either rumors or some new things come out about H-1B visas.. recently some more changes were announced, those should make desi big employers to clean up their act. They have applied thousands of h-1b visas to do body shipping, treated people like shit.. didnít adapt to American way of working, didnít bother to employ enough non-Indians.. they had it coming.
