English equivalent of Hindi/vernacular proverbs/idioms

Someone please tell me the English equivalent of the Hindi proverb, "Puri Ramayan khatam ho gayi. Ab pooch raha hai Ram kaun hai, Sita kaun hai."

^^ Hindi equivalent would be,..

Heera ghogha jaa ke aaya,... Deli pe haath de ke aaya !

Seeta ka hiran huaa,... magar fir Hiran ki seeta vapis huyi ki nahin !

So you are talking about - Kuchh kaam karne ki tivra zankhna hona,.. ya fir,.. pant mein keede running here and there hona,. to overdo certain work with zeal.

I think, there is another one, for that sense, which you rae talking about that I had heard,.. “ naya-naya insaan , utsaah, ullas, umang aur aavesh ke josh mein,.. kaam jeeyada hi kar leta hai, by being zealous ]

Means,.. naya naukar, achhi impression jamaane ke vaaste kaam badhiya kar leta hai,..

Bahu nayi nav deen. [ a bride is considered new for first nine days and you are treating her like a VIP treatment-giving for those days, then she gets older ! ]

Naya nav deen, purana sau din !

When you start renting a new apartment, with zeal and excitement you maintain it neat and clean for first few days,.. later that feeling gets faded.

when you are doing something new, you are too excited and tend to overdo.

Are those proverbs?? Even if they are, I am not able to relate it with the one I posted.

The literal meaning of "naya mulla" proverb I posted is : "A new convert is much more religious than the old adherents"

But if it was meant to be in that sense, then the proverb sould be in the passive voice, like :
" Naye mulleh ko hamesha dau pyaaz jeeyada khilaayi jaati hai / khaane ko milti hai ! "

"khata hai",... ka matlab kya?
- he is doing it with his own willingness - use of powers/Satta - crookly - chhal-kapat - powers ya authority se ,..

Gayi bhans paani me - means saari katha-vyaakhan ho gayi, lekin fir bhi very basic baat hi palle nahin padi,

It's like after listening the whole Ramayana someone asked in the end, "Sita ka hiran toh huaa,.. magar maharaj aap ne yeh naa bataaya hi nahin,.. ki Hiran ki Sita vapis huyi ki nahin ! "

Dharm karta dhaad padi,
or
Namaaz padhte masjeed kote valagi.

Say,.. you found a lost kid on the road, took him to the near by police station for his safety and now police holds you for a day, saying,...that unless we know the kid had some gahne/watch.. etc and whether we are not sure you may/may not have stolen it from him,.. we won't let you go,..

Paav tale jamin khisakna

Sorrows coming in battalions,..

Woes and wounds repeating one after the other, when the first one is not even healed yet,..Or, been hit by one giant level of disaster..
