Students enroll in 1st grade (standard) at the age of 6. That means, when they finish high school, they're 18 (or about to be).

High School is grades (standards) 9-12. Completion of 12th grade is called the high school graduation. It is just the celebration of finishing this important milestone, and moving on to college/university, and to some extent adulthood.

After high school comes college, generally refers to higher education. There are different designations for different higher ed institutions: junior college, college, university. Often times, university refers to a more prestigious institution either because of the programs they offer or their own history. There are private colleges and universities as well as public.

Almost all of the colleges require four-year equivalent of education to earn a bachelors degree: BA or BS. Additional two-years or so would earn you a masters (MS). And then a few more years to become a doctor, lawyer, etc.

Not all kids finish high school. Not all who finish high school go to college. Not all who start college finish college.

I'll leave it at this, but I'm sure this is enough to spark more curiosity... so ask away

p.s. there are also kindergarten graduation/promotions for kids moving on to 1st grade

Re: So, what's up?

My neighbour was putting out her recycle bins at the same time as I last night.
I happen to see that she has 5 (yes 5!) bins with different address written on them. Those address from down the street. I guess when the wind blew them away at one point, my neighbour simply picked it up and stored it in her garage. She has a bunch of stuff stored in there. handful of green bins (for compost) too along with recycle bins.
The normal practise is for us to return to the address. How long can it possible take? 2 mins? These are not cheap...so strange. They have kids living in that house. What do they teach? Finders keepers?!

I rather think the owners of the bins should have gone looking for them. Its not just about losing what you paid money for but also ensuring it has not cause problems for others. A neighbour's car ended up getting a dent by a bin blown away. the bin should have been brought back to its place of storage after collection but some people are too lazy.

I am not sure if the owners are lazy. In our neighbourhood at least, things are more relaxed. Usually collections of garbage/recycle/compost/yard waste happen at different times of the day starting at 7 Am. Most people leave for work by then. For garbage and compost we have weight-bottoms, they dont get blown away but for recycle, no. There is a possibility it gets blown away or falls.
We generally return to the owner; thats the norm. Taking it an putting it in a garage is not is all I am saying.
