Re: For cricket fans

Tendulkar 'convinces' shastri to apply for coach position. Mumbai lobby at work....shastri will then help Sachin's son enter the team....but why is virat Kohli keen on co operating with Mumbai lobby and bringing shastri in ?

Virat probably thinks he needs SRT on his side always. Remember his comments after the WC win in 2011. He has been at it since a long time. I dont know how psychology works but I feel he is buttering him so that he doesnt get into his bad books. Why? Because he thinks he has the potential to overhaul SRT records which wouldnt happen without being in the team for a really long time. And to be in the team he needs to be in the good books of the person who is likely to have a very influential voice in BCCI matters and that is SRT. Shastri is just an extension of that bcoz Shastri and SRT share a common ole boyz club.

I am happy that VK-Shastri combo will rule for the time being. But looking at how cricket is transforming, I think the current way of things will gave way to newer ways where ICC will become irrelevant. A different structure will rule the roost only a few years from now where ICC events or Tests will not be paramount. Already the process has started with many WI stars becoming T20 specialists. DeVilliers saying that his future will be decided soon after talks with SA Board tells me that many talented players are taking retirement or choosing to become commercial and professionals not limited to one board, much like professional tennis.

museebat me gadhe ko bhi baap banana padta hai.. tu meri khuja main teri khujaoon.

Shastri will keep his mouth shut and let Virat do what he wants to..

Re: For cricket fans

At the same time, India did well under Shastri. I was surprised when he was let go so easily from the director role.

Re: For cricket fans

Dravid, the most eligible coach, is ruled out for next 2 years. He chooses to continue with U19 and India A coaching. No fuss, no media comments, no hogging attention, Plain action. And dumps IPL too. Salute you boss. RESPECT!!

Re: For cricket fans

Zimbabwe beat SL with ease by 6 wkts and 13 balls to spare. Chase 317 successfully. The highest chase on the island by any team any time. Great game.

Q- How could the cricketers, who played so well in the entire tournament, not perform in the final match (in London on June 18)?" Athawale questioned on Saturday.

The minister has got it all wrong. Going by how Pak played in the tournament, an allegation that they threw their first league match against India seems more plausible than India throwing Final match And the Paki media knew it that they will make the finals and win against India.

Maybe Pakistan threw the first match . But India also threw the finals in all probability. All fixing.

All these fixing allegations are made to console oneself. It says" Oh we are a better side but we threw it away".

There is nothing more to it.
