Re: Theory on the origins of Creation
allow me to quote the nasadiya sukta
Then even nothingness was not, nor existence, There was no air then, nor the heavens beyond it. What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping Was there then cosmic water, in depths unfathomed? Then there was neither death nor immortality Nor was there then the torch of night and day. The One breathed windlessly and self-sustaining. There was that One then, and there was no other. At first there was only darkness wrapped in darkness. All this was only unillumined water. That One which came to be, enclosed in nothing, arose at last, born of the power of heat. ------------------> Big Bang ? In the beginning desire descended on it. That was the primal seed, born of the mind. The sages who have searched their hearts with wisdom know that which is kin to that which is not. And they have stretched their cord across the void, and know what was above, and what below. Seminal powers made fertile mighty forces. Below was strength, and over it was impulse. But, after all, who knows, and who can say Whence it all came, and how creation happened? The gods themselves are later than creation, -> gods came after the creation happened - they did not create ? so who knows truly whence it has arisen? Whence all creation had its origin, he, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not, he, who surveys it all from highest heaven, he knows - or maybe even he does not know.

egjactly - i believe they used that in the bharat ek khoj series' although imo there are better translations from sanskrit than that one..

They show a grown up Chandragupta approaches Chanakya to help him overthrow Dhana Nanda and become the king.. when actually Chanakya had raised and tutored him from childhood. |

I would ask you the same question you ask Jagguji* every time. 'Kehna kya chahte ho'. Could you summarize in 3 lines your theory. Like Bible is inconsistent within itself. Religion is all hogwash as proved by Darwin, etc. *Has he hacked my phone- it shows up on auto correct.

Re: Theory on the origins of Creation
I thought it was simple and straightforward in the theory. Just took the bible and twisted it a little bit. Now since when has the bible become a twisted and knotted story... like that other book of peace

Maybe you can divide them into 3 or 5 main steps. Then it will be more readable. |

Re: Theory on the origins of Creation
Are we talking just religious books... or all books, in general

Re: Theory on the origins of Creation
Quite a lot... though every one of them is so boring and outdated that I could never finish any. So you can call my knowledge of religious books as half-arse-hearted... and that can be very dangerous
![]() If only religious books were as interesting as Resnick & Halliday books or Young and Freedman books...

Re: Theory on the origins of Creation
i've surmised (long ago) that religions are essentially 'politics in the name of God'--------they tell what's considered 'good', 'bad','pleasing to the God(s)', etc.. They also tell you what to eat, what to wear, how to behave with 'people of other faiths' etc.. etc..
Unfortunately, we continue to have 'die hard believers' still accepting that man was created 8-9 thousand years ago, thye earth is flat, and the sun etc,, move around it etc.. etc.. I guess the sanatani concept of 'Swadharma' (--a synergy of acquired knowledge and one's own capabilities realized thru that knowledge, and experience etc.., in leading a basically non-violent and useful life etc..) based spiritualism is, in a way, one of the better ways of living one's life. Of course, those who have a vested interest in propagating 'their religions' are bound to create problems------but that, ironically, is actually helping in hastening the 'progress' towards Swadharma.
