Righteous Kill

Robert de Niro and Al Pacino in the same movie.... What more can you ask for... They had only one scene together in "Heat" and none in "Godfather".

So I just went with too much of expectation and was tad disappointed. I was surprised a little in the first half that what Pacino is doing in this movie. Pacino has underplayed himself.... and De Niro is as good as ever... I tried comparing them and I couldn't....
Movie is very predictable and neither a thrillers nor an psychoanalytical/ criminal's mind kind of story. The weakness of movie lies in the story...

Both DeNiro and Pacino are veteran NYPD cops.... there is a poetic killer at loose.... And these two are not exactly worried about him/her as he is wiping out the scumbags.....Working on the case with two juniors they found out that most probably the killer is/was a cop.
Another great thing about the movie is Carla Gugino.... boy, is she hot!! Wish there were more scenes of hers in the movie.

My verdict: Good movie... go watch it but don't expect too much....

Re: Righteous Kill

Chitrallaji ... Niro is a two movie actor ... Deer Hunter and Godfather II ... It has been so many years and I have yet to watch a film where he did justice to the character.

Pacino ... sem sem ... 5 or 6 movies ... Dog Day Afternoon ... Godfather I II III ... Scarface and one or two more.

Both are like our mid age cricket players ...

He did tremendous job as Al Capone. One of all time villaneous role.

If De Niro and Pacino ....are two to 5-6 movie actors then who do you think Hollywood's best are?

Not to disagree with you, Amtalhaha pai... but the movie where he played Al Capone is Untouchables, I believe. And yeah, a fantastic role... but it seems as if he is turning out into a 1-face actor too. See any of his later movies, and it is the same Robert DiNero in each of it. I am not saying that I do not like... whatever the 1-face is, it is the best

But where are all the directors these days who can get the real De Niro out yaar? Scorsese likes Caprio these days, De Palma is busy making movies with Scarlett Johannson. What else is he gonna do than act in B grade movies? I think De Palma is coming out with a newer version of Untouchables this year.

Bhaiyan aisa kisiko insulate mat karon. Aapne De Niro ke kaafi movies nahi dekhe shayad. Apart from the flicks you mentioned, other memorable performances that I reckon include:

1) Goodfellas
2) Taxi Driver
3) Cape Fear
4) Casino

BTW, all of the above are Scorsese flicks.

Thanks for the review Chitrala. Would be checking the movie this weekend.
