I am sure there is a bollywood remake of this one. Let me check.
And even though i like it, it is rated 4 and a half stars by other netflix viewers and rest of ya may like it too
Agnipath (amitabh's) copied the music from this movie.

This is one movie where the book and movie are very similar. No big cuts from the novel in the movie.

Maybe he wrote it at the producer's or director's behest.

There is also mannerisms plus the sister falling for sidekick and the disapproving mom. Though the overall plot is different.
Director must have told big b. 'Mannerisms are from Al Pacino in scarface and voice from marlon brando in GOdfather.

Re: Netflix movies worth watching

There is actually a series having life story of Baba Ramdev.
20 episodes 20 minutes each. Added attraction is a villain Tej Sapru as village Pandit ji hellbent on suppressing Ramdev.

Here is real Baba Ramdev which his screen versions.

Re: Netflix movies worth watching

I thought i had watched all of tarantino movies but missed out on 'Jackie Brown' - 1997 Tarantino style thriller.
Now, this was a time when i used to be up to date on movies Hollywod and Bollywood. I caught on many Hollywood movies like Air Force One, Face off and Men in black. But this never released, at least in Dillika. Looks like off beat hollywood movies did not make it to India.

Watched a bit of it, since wifey insisted.. she thinks the caste stuff is blown up too much, which may be factual I feel.

Only recently I came to know that even in cities some people object to their kids mingling with other caste kids. I've never seen it personally but a coworker from Hyderabad told me about having faced it.
