reading too much into his words? He has been on record approving demonitisation and GST before.

its no surprise and we dont need Economic advisor to tell us that demonitisation was shock, it shrank the economy for some quarters, it killed tax-avoidance of cash based business people, so on and on....

Re: Run Black Money Run!

Demonetization has to be good for India. Yes, there probably was a lot of hardship for the common man and the uncommon man. But a major step like this will have hardship. And the way India has recovered from it is marvelous. It did not go under like many predicted but actually survived and can only shoot straight up.

And those people saying that it did not affect black money... probably just smoking pipe. Nobody with black money will say that they have lost money. The few who were sensible enough turned their black money at a cost and recovered whatever they could. The rest is lost... how much Who knows Nobody will know.

Stop this rumoring that demonetization was bad and draconian and will cause India to go down... it was bad and draconian but that is the very nature of it. But the overall good is yet to come. And with a leader like Modi, India can only expect a glorious future

Edit: One can compare this to Thanos. Thanos only wanted good for the world... even at the cost of friends and family. What he did was a bad thing... but he only wanted good for the world.

draconian

ADJECTIVE

(of laws or their application) excessively harsh and severe.

From Oxford Dictionary
Draconian means excessively harsh and severe.. sure, some people believe that. But was it useless and failure, and a necessary evil?

Negative remark can also be .. I was not consulted, not told about it prior to it happening.. I was economic advisor.

This clearly shows why he was let go of his duties.. he was not on same page with saheb and may be not trustworthy.

I suggest you start reading the article before forming an opinion from the title.. nowhere in the article it says it was a bad decision which should not have been taken. Also, if you don't know meaning of a word, now you have the services of an online portal which can be reached by invoking the URL www.google.com in case a bound copy of the Oxford Dictionary is not at hand.
