Wink Bollywood skips voting, rushes to IIFA

Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi skip voting, choose to attend IIFA awards in US

Bollywood celebrities Javed Akhtar and his wife Shabana Azami, who are usually seen working for social and political causes, on Thursday skipped the biggest celebration of Indian democracy by deciding not to cast their votes as they chose to attend IIFA awards function in US.

Notably, Akhtar, widely acclaimed Bollywood poet and writer, is a sitting Rajya Sabha MP while renowned actress Shabana Azmi is an ex-member of the Upper House.

Besides the couple, several other big names of B-town like Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Shahid Kapur, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor also skipped voting to go to US.
