Saw the first episode of this season. Amitabh was as good as he always is.

I think they pick up contestants in such a way that they can extract some 'human sob story' out of them. This way the audience remains enthralled and emotionally connected. If they just pick candidates who have no sob stories, I think the show will just turn into another 'quiz' show. In India audiences love drama and sob stories. Somewhere everyone identifies with such sorrow on TV. No wonder our daily soaps continue for years together and garner top ratings.

Yes, KBC India is a daily soap with a quiz thrown in. Kudos to the creative team for identifying the sweet spot of milking the audience with sob stories.

waise sob story banane main kaun sa time lagta hai ... subah potty theek se na aaye to sob story..saara saara din heavy stomach leke ghhomna padta hai ... baar baar paani peena padta hai ... logon ko peene ke liye saaf paani nahi milta aur yahan log peyt saaf karne ke liye paani pe paani pii rahe hain... thode somalian logon ke pictures dikhane ka bina paani ke handpump ko ghoorte hue aur bas... bann gayi story...

watched some old episodes yesterday.

the guy in CID ( handwriting expert ) was real smart. so far only one I saw.

sardar girl was just lucky and a showoff.

I feel that this version of KBC is more like a sob story mixed with money. To keep all ages of audience glued.

In the episode of 29th August, there was this question:

What happens during a Lunar Eclipse?
A. Moon is not visible
B. Sun is not visible
C. Moon is brighter
D. Moon is smaller

After the participant answers this question correctly, Mr. Bachchan is seen saying that Lunar Eclipse occurs when Sun is between Moon and Earth.
