What was his message? it was kind of similar to every other republican on the ticket. They wanted limited govt, coal mining, Obamacare repeal, drill baby drill. There was one difference, Trump was an outsider. A businessman who was also a reality TV star. A larger than life personality who was a straight shooter and totally away from the shenanigans of the power corridors and "corrupt" Politicians . True, we also had Carly Fiorina and that Fair Tax dude but their national appeal was nowhere close to Trump's because of his reality tv career. That is what appealed to the conservative base.

That is something similar which Dems see in Oprah, or at least their voter base does.
