Today H1B visa holders are mainly working in big companies like Cisco, Apple, Wells Fargo, Intuit, etc.

If you try for a contract as a non H1B, for example, with Apple, the rate for a very well experienced senior developer is ..... just 80/hr!! Yes that low.

There are some jobs in contracting world which require senior experienced people but these companies are now used to the low wage H1Bs. So they cringe at giving good rates for the right candidates.

Anyway, if H1B restrictions come into play, then the tech industry wont hurt much as they will offshore lot of work.
