India had a jury system.... If I am not wrong the last time jury sat on a case was that adultery case involving a naval officer where he shot his wife and his friend. Jury pardoned him and he emigrated to canada... was it Admiral Nanavati... He was parsi for sure... and parsis made huge hue and cry about it.... I think Jethmalani fought the case....

On second thoughts it should be a court martial not a jury case... forgot the details...but India did have a jury system at one time..
