Also , too long the Modi government has been on the defensive in the face of aggressive moves to attack it---like in the case it the 'intolerance' controversy and the 'award wapasi' drama or the Rohith Vemula suicide . If this continues , then those who attack it will have the initiative all for themselves and the government will soon lose out popularity even among it's core constituency as it will seen as ineffective . Somewhere , sometime , the government has to take a strong stand .
