I think there was a poem of some sort which went something like this...First there were 10 pigs.. then one fell down.. and soon there were none...

I am not sure whether it was from a old movie or something, but the moot point is that if every regional party or people start demanding for separate states then we will have 100 states. The current number of states are not well managed, and adding new states will create more chaos than ever.

Why do folks want separate states ? :(

They want to create a separate state like Uttranchal, its good actually,
Small states are easy to manage

i tend to agree with Randheer

OK ..let me explain you guys something about this issue

Andhra Pradesh is internally classified into three different regions called Andhra, Telangana, Rayalaseema. This classification is due to the variations of Telugu language Dialects, Cultural reasons.

Politically, economically and in many other ways Andhra is rich , and people hailing from these regions lead, represent andhra .
Rich with natural resources and infrastructure.

Rayalaseema is politically, economically is reasonably good in shape ..inspight of lack of resources.

Telangana is a region of andhra pradesh state comprising 10 districts. This is the most backward area of Andhra Pradesh.

Why is telangana backward ????

--> Historically ..telangana is the area looted and occupied by Muslim rulers as well as Britshers. No other part of Andhra Pradesh is effected by these invaders.
-->Naxalism/armed struggle against landlords, this initially served the purpose, but now it took ugly turn and these naxalites have become a bunch of bandits. This effected the development activities in this region.
-->Political leaders these areas were ..involved in money making and these were of below standards. I mean ..many political leaders of this area ..are not even educated enough to write their names. They didnt relaise their powers ..and were always involved in local petty issues.
All the leaders mainly hailed from SC/ST,dalits, BC groups.
-->Rulers of the state were always from Andhra and Rayalseema.
They always ignored telangana region. Telangana leaders were unable to project their region problems properly..on a right stage, when compared to Andhra.
--> Moreover Andhra rulers became more and more partial , as the time passed. jobs are unevenly distributed. People still quote the GO issued by government somewhere between 1970-75 , which states to replace/remove 20,000 employees of telangana region with those from Andhra.
--> All the central government and state government grants are always un evenly distributed between these regions.
-->Telanga Dialect is always humiliated, telugu movies use telangana dialect to make fun of their language.
--> Natural resources are unevenly distributed in the state.
Telangana has rivers like Godavari, Krishna flowing from its heart ..but pity situation is ..telanga people cannot use this water.
It is a situation like ..i have a pot full of water in my house and i cannot drink Ridiculous isnt it ?? THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE for this demand for SEPERATE STATE HOOD.
-->The famous Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is in Nalgonda District of telangana region ...and people of Nalgonda doesnt have water to drink.
--> we always hear in news that ,the farmers of andhra made suicide, unable to bear poverty . It is this telanga area farmers who commit suicide ..not from andhra or rayalseema. They cannot cultivate their lands inspight of a big river flowing beside them.
--> Recently we read the news of babies being sold for couple of bucks, it is this telanga area babies sold.
--> And aboce all ..there were great hopes from Mr.Chandrababu Naidu ..who boasted as CEO of AP , but this publicity monger had never done any thing to develop telangana.

You guys would have known lot of Software Engineers from AP, how many of them come from Telangana ??? !!!

no wonder they demand for a seperate state . Telanga people are not demanding a seperate country, they just want to see them developed .

Brother Rakhwala..
the best of the patriots and people who fought against tyrannical nizams of hyderabad are from telangana.

is there any other solution ..for this problem ???

Asking for separate state is not at all against the nation. I fully agree with Indian that small states are better to manage. We have many examples. The biggest states - Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. They are amongest the poorest. If we don't consider very small states from the north-east as they are resource wise different that rest part of India, then the small states like Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana are doing much better.

I don't understand why rulers are always against such issues and finally after lot of blood they have to giveup. If you remember from the past: Gujarat and Maharastra were single state. There was no logic to keep both together, but they were. There was hugh agitation amongest Gujarat for separate state. It wasn't easy but after long struggle they got it. Today with 5% of India's population it shares 12% of GDP. And it is most industrialized state after Maharastra. At the same time Maharastra was also prospered. So after dividing states we (india as a nation) got a lot!

I always think that local people can understand local issues. There may be some problems like sharing resources - rivers etc. But they are anyway there with big states.

Let us hope that Uttaranchal, Chhattisgadh and Jarkhand also prosper.

thanks patel Bhai,

I am now all hooked to the news items on telengana , where interesting developments are happening.

Parameters like Politics, Money, Power, greed, hate, history, economy, people, love, terrorism, casteism, publicity, water, land, campaign and counter-campaigns are working high.

MR.Naidu is totally against formation of telangana(as he quotes in papers). Let me see ..how much more he can influence/brainwash telugu/telangana people with his extraordinary publicity techniques.

On a personal note... i dont like my state AP to be divided , we have a common language and culture, we lived together for so many years.

But ..it is very painfull to watch some biased leaders ..engage in dividing state in regional basis. These small bunch of leaders from andhra and telangana had combinedly turned telangana into worthless piece of land.

Where is the measiah of peace ?? who will bear the torch to ..make AP a united state and see telangana developed ??

Rather than to watch ..people just die ..its better telangana is made a seperate state. Atleast telangana people still want to be very much in india. We telangana people know that ..India is heaven.

Centre looking at Gorkhaland model for Telangana?

J. Balaji

Fearful that the splitting of Andhra Pradesh could create a cascading effect on other states, the UPA-II government is considering the creation of a Telangana Territorial Administration on the lines of Gorkhaland.
Informed sources pointed out that if that was the case, the Centre had to further amend Article 371 (D), which has already provided a special status for 10 backward districts of the Telangana region, and this could be done with the approval of two-thirds of Parliament strength

Centre may agree to Telangana state before Jan 28

Congress sources have confirmed that sheer political considerations ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls have impelled the leadership to consider splitting Andhra Pradesh.

NEW DELHI: With mounting speculation that the Centre (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Centre) could be tilting towards creating the separate state of Telangana, a delegation of Congress (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Congress) legislators drawn from other parts of Andhra Pradesh (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Andhra-Pradesh) on Monday urged Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Sushilkumar-Shinde) to maintain the status quo.
