Dear All,
Yesterday Ms.Barkha Dutt conducted a discussion on Star TV. It was called "WE the people". Ms.Jaya Jaitley, one of the accused in Tehelka exposure was also called and in my opinion she stoutly defended her case. On
listening to her and the transcript which was read out, I came to a conclusion that she is not guilty of any misappropriation. I have sent my comments to
Ms.Dutt which are as follows:
Ms.Barkha Dutt,
I watched the program you conducted in my name.I said, "in my name" because I am also a member of the public. Since everybody can not be invited to
the program and as the selection is in your hands,I know that you will always have your siblings like Vinod Mehta in the crowd. Vinod loves his own voice and, therefore, can not make his point in a straight forward manner without SEMANTICS.
You have effectively silenced a person in the crowd, who made the most valid point viz.Why was Tehelka, who employed the same dubious tactics to expose cricket scam, not taken seriously and it was trashed by all including Star TV. It was then branded as "bad in taste", "unethical" etc etc.
Why is the same dubious and nebulous filming taken seriously and the opposition, without exception, is asking for blood without any kind of inquiry?
You, Star TV,who would love to see that the country plunges into utter chaos is taking the lead. That is why you are called venal.
The great Mr.Somnath Chatterjee, who is sitting in probably every Loksabha since Independence, has a cheek to tell a youngster in the crowd, who asked
"what we youngsters should do",
"DON'T FOLLOW US"was his answer.
He made a mockery of your program by ending it this way. Old habits die hard. He behaved exactly in the same manner he behaves in Loksabha. He used lots
of expletives and adjectives, like the congress MP "BRAR"in BIG FIGHT had used, in shooting down Ms.Jaya Jaitley. But had no substance behind his
arguments.
Anybody in his senses would have seen the truth, atleast an iota of truth, in what Ms.Jaitley had said in her defence. She systematically showed the flaws in the whole TEHELKA issue as far as she is concerned. She had caught the Tehelka guy ANIRUDHDHA with his pants down when she asked few pointed questions to him. He had to admit that there could be a mistake. This
proves the point that the nation must wait for inquiry by a sitting Supreme court judge.By the way what is the credibilty of Tehelka? They are tucking their tails as far as PMO office corruption is concerned. There are no
more tapes to be shown as declared by them earlier. WHY?
A lady in the public asked Mr.Somnath Chatterjee as to "why he is disrupting Loksabha every day and does not allow debate to take place or wait till the Judge comes out with his report"? Mr.Chatterjee gave his
verdict that all are guilty beyond any doubt and therefore, Vajpai must go. Your favourite Italian lady is seeing her chances of sitting in prime ministers chair and has therefore, in a great hurry, declared that her
party is ready for coalition. This shows what is cooking in the minds of opposition.
Coming back to your friend Vinod(Mehta), who loves to sermonise the world, said in the end that "people must fight the corrupt systems" in the country. The same guy VINOD coyly raised his hand when Ms.Jaitley asked
a question-"How many of you have paid gratification to railway staff". 70% of the people(your estimate) in the audience raised their hands. But if you have observed it correctly the hands went up only one by one to begin
with and only when few hands had gone up, the others raised their hands. This signifies cowardice of public."SURPRISINGLY" your friend and Pal
VINOD(Mehta) was one of the last ones to raise his hand. You made a comment OH! Vinod you have also paid (bribe). This same VINOD(Mehta)had taken
every opportunity earlier to sermonise the public and gave big lecture to one and all in the nation on corruption in high places. Truly speaking, the real qualities of a person come out through his reflex mind and that is where "your VINOD" got caught. He is equally guilty of spreading corruption in this country. A guy with double standard. Now that he has publicly admitted of paying bribe to railway staff, should he not
be prosecuted and a FIR filed?
I hold no brief for any political party at all. I know that all, without any exception in this country are corrupt in one way or other. All are involved in corruption at one time or the other. That is why we are ranked as one
of the most corrupt countries in the world. Somnathjee and your Vinod are no exception to this rule. Only thing is some fools get caught. Others get benifit of doubt.
