Nawaaz shariff was exiled to Saudi Arabia.

Why not put him in prison for his wrong-doings?

sometimes they hang convicts, sometimes they put in prison, sometimes they exile....

are there any rules or does the judge decide on a personal basis?

I guess the bigger question is - How and why did Saudi Arabia agree to take him, if he is a criminal ?? Is that not against their Islamic principles ?? Or do they plan on cutting off his hands once he gets there ??

It is probably a case of his knowing too much about those currently in power. So he gets the easy way out. Maybe we should send PV Narsimha Rao to Singapore instead of jail. That will teach him .. :)

Once a Nepali and Pakistani hig commissioner met for some diplomatic(?) talks for fostering trade relations, etc.

The Paki said that he could go ahead with the deal if he could convince his Justice Department.

The Nepali then said that the deal could go through but he would have to take permission from the Naval Department.

The Paki exclaimed, "Hey you dont have a Navy! For that matter you dont have access to the sea!"

The Nepali cool-ly replied, "Well if you claim to have a Justice Department...." :)
