I always used to wonder when Cha used to say Admin job is boring but today being a mod I know what he must be going thru all these years.
Here on the forum everyone is your friend and to police one in favour of the other is real pain.There are times when a mod feels some action is necessary and other mods feels that it was not but still we in the moderating team always respected each other and never questioned a mod's decision in the same way our Admin never questions or overrides anyone's decision,say I ban a member the Admin never goes and unban that member instead he requests me to unban if possible.
Early this year someone played some games and we were on our toes every moment while our friends and family members were busy enjoying the new year we round the clock were glued to the mod control panel.

Believe me the moderating job is the most boring of all the jobs a person can take in real life,here you dont get to enjoy anything,you cant joke with any member for the fear of being accused of misusing powers and have to keep a watch and read all the posts even the ones you dont like to, monitor certain things and to add to it there are some members with malicious intention whom the team has to keep in check. The smooth forum you see and enjoy is the hard work of people in the moderating team working round the clock and my sincere appreciation for each one in the team.

Its a very sad thing that this forum has no income unlike other forum who place ads in almost each post we just have few ones only on the front page and the placement is such that no one hardly notices.Inspite of all this our Admin keeps funding the forum for hosting,licence,legal etc
It has been my pleasure to work with the moderators here about whom I will be short of words to describe their greatness.

Most members have something against some moderator or the other,there are members who have complains about me,there are members who complain about Amthabhai and some have against Jaispeaks,Sunnykode is a darling so no one complains about him ;) but yes the complain boxes of Ec always has complains about Swami,Amthalal,Jaispeaks and Tantric_yogi :D
Folks I just want to remind you that moderators are members first and moderators later and each member is a human being first. So the member who perceives the mod who has taken action against him as his no 1 enemy should think with a sane mind that the mod has no personal enemity with anyone its the line of duty and to keep the forum clean and smooth he has done it.
So my humble request to each and every member dont take any mods decision personally,if you feel some wrong action has been taken write to that mod reason out the matter and if not satisfied speak to senior mods like Amthabhai or Tantubhai and I am sure your problem will be resolved.Speak out and resolve the issue rather then sitting and imagining things about that moderator.The moderator can also make mistakes bring out his mistakes and get it rectified.
Another thing I have observed is some members order the moderators using please wont hurt while addressing a mod.So please be polite even when ordering as you would do in real life.

But it could be all karma also. During the year, you might not have done your mod job well and some disgruntled member might have spoiled your new year. May be you might have ignored his message or 'report post' and so he might have chose to give you and friends a good time at new year.

I do agree that mod's job is a thankless job. We Indians are mostly anti administration, may be it is the central government, state government or district administration and the same attitude holds good for virtual world as well.

One thing I have noticed, might be I am wrong, ragging takes place here as well and the newcomers have to face a bit of music.

Let all of us ensure that a newcomer is welcomed and given a space.

In my openion, the moderator group is most experienced, active participant and most importantly helpful to all members especially to new comers.

But the problem starts when some of them become autocratic and start ragging a particular member to detract or humiliate him. Such problem worsens when the group of members start supporting to one of them.

In such situation a senior members like Admin should intervene. He should find the root cause of the problem and deliver a fair judgement.

I always used to wonder when Cha used to say Admin job is boring but today being a mod I know what he must be going thru all these years.
Here on the forum everyone is your friend and to police one in favour of the other is real pain.There are times when a mod feels some action is necessary and other mods feels that it was not but still we in the moderating team always respected each other and never questioned a mod's decision in the same way our Admin never questions or overrides anyone's decision,say I ban a member the Admin never goes and unban that member instead he requests me to unban if possible.
Early this year someone played some games and we were on our toes every moment while our friends and family members were busy enjoying the new year we round the clock were glued to the mod control panel.

Believe me the moderating job is the most boring of all the jobs a person can take in real life,here you dont get to enjoy anything,you cant joke with any member for the fear of being accused of misusing powers and have to keep a watch and read all the posts even the ones you dont like to, monitor certain things and to add to it there are some members with malicious intention whom the team has to keep in check. The smooth forum you see and enjoy is the hard work of people in the moderating team working round the clock and my sincere appreciation for each one in the team.

Its a very sad thing that this forum has no income unlike other forum who place ads in almost each post we just have few ones only on the front page and the placement is such that no one hardly notices.Inspite of all this our Admin keeps funding the forum for hosting,licence,legal etc
It has been my pleasure to work with the moderators here about whom I will be short of words to describe their greatness.

Most members have something against some moderator or the other,there are members who have complains about me,there are members who complain about Amthabhai and some have against Jaispeaks,Sunnykode is a darling so no one complains about him ;) but yes the complain boxes of Ec always has complains about Swami,Amthalal,Jaispeaks and Tantric_yogi :D
Folks I just want to remind you that moderators are members first and moderators later and each member is a human being first. So the member who perceives the mod who has taken action against him as his no 1 enemy should think with a sane mind that the mod has no personal enemity with anyone its the line of duty and to keep the forum clean and smooth he has done it.
So my humble request to each and every member dont take any mods decision personally,if you feel some wrong action has been taken write to that mod reason out the matter and if not satisfied speak to senior mods like Amthabhai or Tantubhai and I am sure your problem will be resolved.Speak out and resolve the issue rather then sitting and imagining things about that moderator.The moderator can also make mistakes bring out his mistakes and get it rectified.
Another thing I have observed is some members order the moderators using please wont hurt while addressing a mod.So please be polite even when ordering as you would do in real life.
