It is known that geniuses who have the ability to innovate are so rare that they are virtually non-existent.

So the question is: Is it possible that ordinary folks stumble upon something innovative accidentally? It could be anything – elegant short cut to do a task, interesting observations, leisure activities etc.

Has it ever happened to you that you are looking for your lost watch, in your house and instead of finding the watch you find the missing ring/jewellery.

I think yes accidental Innovations do happen and the reason they are called as accidental Innovations because the person innovating it was actually working on something else and ended up with a Innovation by chance/accident .

A few famous examples :

It is known as SERENDIPITY!Thanks for the info. But there is slight difference in my point.

You are referring to innovation by scientists. And it takes genius even to notice it. I am talking about innovation by ordinary folks of the kind that is noticeable even to such lay people.

It does really take a genius to notice. In a coutry like India, millions have to fend for themselves, every-day, every bite that goes down the throat of poor is innovation. The poor living in pipes meant for sewer pipelines, those rummaging rubbish bins to search for recyclable material, even those who sift the river bed in hope of finding gold/silver from dead people ashes with gold/silver tooth-caps - all are innovators and innovations that are so many and so common that we dont even consider them to be innovators and innovations.

People’s IQ varies and the rate of growth of IQ also varies. But everybody’s IQ stops growing at more or less the same age i.e. at about early 20s. The duration of IQ growth is approximately same for everyone. Can’t people’s IQ grow for longer periods?

Everything available in USA....

heres the thing about the nif innovations that I pasted. if something requires 100$ to produce 1 unit of, then there needs to be innovation to be able produce 100 of those in 1$ - thats the kind of aim...

sure all of it will be avialable in US of A or even in India doesnt mean there are better ways of doing those things.
