Great Film by Indian film Industry

Today I saw "SHOOL" starring Mohan Bajpayee & Raveena Tandon.

I must say it was a very powerful film. Very true to life. Clearly sending out a message. No BS.

But they are not appreciated in India. why?

Same film made in the US would have bagged 10 Oscars!

Gardish(1993) (http://www.filmana.com/film2k.asp?imovie_id=56&vmoviename=Gardish) and Angaar(1992) (http://www.filmana.com/film2k.asp?imovie_id=15) by Jackie Shroff was another one which appealed to me.

"Ankush' starring Madan Jain, Nana patekar is another one.

But the difference between these films and shool is that "Shool" is on target from the first scene. No light-hearted stuff or comedy or family melodrama or songs in the rain stuff.

Who else can make such a quality movie..other than Ramu ..Ram Gopal Varma.

which were really good:

The first was "Drohkaal" by Shyam Benegal with Om Puri

and the other was Amir Khan starrer "Sarfarosh"

I really liked both of them for the topic they were handling and the way the subject was treated. The first one was more of an art film types and the second had all the ingerdients of a Masala film yet was really good where storyline and screenplay was concerned.
