Rule of communication ... I am teaching to you only today for benefit to you so you benefit.

Yes or no or as little words as possible when you answering to person in authorety like vakil, hawildar, court, judge, immigration, custom, wife. Outside these you use more words so peoples understand to your meaning.

Your post you wrote above which I quoted above is so unclear leaving behind a mass of more questions.

1. You Indian citizen or Canadian citisen?
2. Do Canada allow you dual citizenshep? Is it reciprocal from India?
3. Did you surrender Indian passport when application Canada citizenship or you keep it?

I help if you answer. How I answer if you don't answer?

How long does Canadian government take to grant upon refugees status of permanent residency? I suggest you delay your travel if this is the case.

One Pakistani player just took easy way out to migrate to UK. There are over hundred thousand Indian families seeking refugee status in western countries. They leave Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore on tourist visas and a day after arrival in foreign apply for refuggehood ... from India!

Wish you good luck ... :flip:

if you want to apply for visitor visa on your american (or any other country's) passport, why should your Indian passport be asked? I am not sure why they will ask your old passport.

Whether your passport is expired or not, they charge you for cancellation anyways. Check the www.cgisf.org for details. I know this because this topic had come up before in our forums.

latest citizenship will be the one which is valid, you can not use the former country's passport as travel document. it cant be going to india on indian passport and coming back to US on american passport. NO. For indian visa you have to produce your indian origin proof and proof of date you became citizen here. Indian passport should be stamped cancelled I assume.

Premiji ... I will go with KKKK on this. Bring few photos, fill up the forms and present your current passport. There is no reason why they need to ask for your former passports.

I read at some blog site. You surrender existing passport when applying for citizenship of new adopted country. You surrender if to country of adoption and not to Indian embassy. Thats it and end of it and the way it used to be. You must have some old expired passports ... make copy of first few pages ... just in case if they ask. You have many hobbies but keeping old expired passports is not one ... tell them.

Sounds like you just need to get a surrender certificate. It'll cost you $20 in processing fees.
