View Full Version : If you were given another chance in life

This question is for married folks with one spouse only.

If you were given another chance in life by going back in time and getting married again, would you choose a different person as a spouse? This is not a public poll so your answers will not be seen by all.

If you say you would choose not to marry, the answer taken would be you would choose a different person as a spouse.

An emphatic NO, with a difference, this time around I will listen more. I couldn't possibly imagine being married to another woman, not even in nightmare. Saat pheras for seven lives? I will gladly do another hundred.

One more question :D Was there a moment in life ever ..... for the minutest of the fraction of a second when the answer was a Yes ?

The question should be put differently :

"If you were given a chance, would you like to see your husband / wife married to another person ? "

I would not be able to marry because law does not allow many at a time - Priyanka Chopra, Shilpa Shirodkar, Vidya Balan, Sameera Reddy, ...etc. etc... :D :D :D :D

Hypothetically speaking, since I'm not married, I'd toh marry someone else. I mean there should be something to compare with, right? Besides, what is the point of marrying the same person, unless you're saat-janam-ka-bandhan types romantic person?

There could be other points besides saat janam, for instance a person may prefer to accept the current spouse with known challenges rather than trying a new, unknown person.

jeetIAFNo good. Soon after Dharmendra-Hema wedding, the govt. changed the laws following the serious criticism. Now if you want to change the religion and remarry, you need the fist wife's permission or need to divorce her according to the laws under which the marriage took place.

Madam ko Mrs. Gabbar aise hi nahi bolte hai :D

There is this one girl I used to like and wanted to marry but she married someone last year . She told me today that she was leaving him and whether I am still interested in marrying her .

Now since I am already in love with someone else and am over her in a way , but should I have if I was single . At that time she married someone else because I wanted to wait but she was like obsessed with getting married. Even at that time we were so compatible with each other that anyone who saw was would say we were made for each other .

But still life went in different directions for both of us , and now this is where it stands . Now she might be willing to marry me just to save herself from embarrassment . Or it can be that she realized she jumped to quickly for the arranged alliance and should have tried to wait for me .

Just wanted to share it here . Nothing related I guess to OP

Men wait for right time and find a right girl. Women find a right guy first, and want to get married immediately. More on this later. First things first ... hope you told her the truth, unless she was pulling your leg. She may just be waking up with her hubby, wondering what it would have been like with you. She may just be willing to jump the ships and checking the water. Better give her a quick answer so she puts her brain where her emotions are. She has to start adjusting to man in her life and stop living life of day-dreams.

Now to woman and her urge to get married ... no matter how good your relationship was, she was perfectly willing to throw it away cause she wanted to get married. This makes me wonder, possible, she had already found the guy who was willing to marry her, before she offered you the choice.

You got lucky, I think.

Kranti, in everyone’s life there comes a moment when we falter, even if it was for a fraction of second. When you fight real bad or when you are depressed there is every chance that you wish you are singe; not necessarily be married to someone.

There is this one girl I used to like and wanted to marry but she married someone last year . She told me today that she was leaving him and whether I am still interested in marrying her .

Forget about what she wants; what do you want?

Not right to give in to first emotions, specially from a person on the rebound from a relationship.

No cause to be jumping for joy because you are in demand, no cause to be rigid, no cause to dump your present woman if the relationship is ok. Also, check yourself - it's a very very delicate time, more than you realise.

Grass is always greener on the other side.

Most of us here are Hindus. Our religion and laws do not permit us more than one. What did you mean?

If you say you would choose not to marry, the answer taken would be you would choose a different person as a spouse.

So all those who haven't participated in this thread or choose not to marry are contemplating same sex partner, is that what you imply?

"different person" could also mean "same person with certain different attributes/habits/idiosyncrasies"

how about a repoll after that?:smartass:

No. But last week we had a party, basically they called it bachelors party for the guy who is going to get married and lots of daru flowing.... Bachelors my foot, 8 of the 10 ppl there were married folks and you know the advices started flowing.... things to be careful about... how the grooms life was going to end in doom after marriage etc etc... Set me thinking, would all these folks marry someone else given a chance? So started this poll, when you guys can answer when you are sobar or driunk, your pick.

Good move. Anyway I personally think that she is way too vulnerable at this time to take another life-altering decision.

Vulnerable? In India when a groom declines marriage during Wedding ceremony someone else stands up and gets married instead. I wonder how their marriagge works out. Come to think of it I haven't read this news for quite some time now but was a common occurrence unit some time ago. However I have never heard of bride declining and another girl turning up.

This comment has nothing to do with Jaipai's case.
