When we walk into the shop there is an entire aisle dedicated to mundane things like tooth paste. Or better yet, look at toilet paper. There is one ply, two ply, one with self print, one has a rose printed on it, one is light cream color instead of white, one with different paper texture, one is wet, the list goes on. That is only the type. Every company makes one of each type. Then they package it differently in packs of 6 and 8 and 40 and 100 with different princing per unit. So there are literally thousands of SKUs to pick from just to wipe the yourself.
Are we making things complicated for no reason? Why do we need so much choice?
Does that bother you or do you just pick what you have always used?
Or you don't use toilet paper yet because you couldn't find the one you wanted?

Yes. Too many and mostly unnecessary. And some of us are stupid enough to spend life deliberating over the choices. I am not like that. I don't indulge in choice jhamela. Makes life exciting for a simple man like me when I pick up first toilet roll on the shelf. Double it if it turns out to be single ply. Same with women. I don't give a shit, as long as woman is beautiful and has silky smooth fair skin. Semsem with clothes, as long as they fit and look good, don't give a shit for anything else.
No choices for me.

yep too many choices...once i was at bj's club and was confused about which toilet paper to buy there were just too many..man do we really need so many..i mean i just want to wipe my ass..right..so i wondered what others think and buy..so i just stood there for nearly 30 minutes watching others...
i was surprised to see what i saw...most people have same confusion or but different thought process as most people picked different kinds of toilet paper..some went for regular bjs brand but fancy looking..some went for cheaper ones for brand names...some just went for cheaper ones...some just went for expensive kinds..
made me think...i think reason is everybody has different likings, needs and affordability...so that create a market place and need for range in similar types of products...due to technological advancements, better manufacturing process, better infrastructure etc i think its possible for manufacturers to make products that fill that range and demand. so if you know what you want and what you dont then more choices are good. but process of choosing is surely time consuming..sometimes i miss old fashoned shops where you just describe the dukaanwalla what you want, could be anything from tooth brush to shirts pants watches, and he shows you the goods you want.

I think the traditional dukanwala had a good hang of customer's taste and budget and was able to save his and customer's time.

Yes, sometimes it is us who makes things complicated. We always seek for something better or something new that we forgot to consider other things than that. Our life depends on what decision to make and on what path to take, it is up to us to seek for the answers to our question. What is enough is enough, don't try to make things complicated when a simple answer can be given.
