Inspired by this thread (http://www.echarcha.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35225) I thought of asking this question. Since Baazigar was the turning point for Shahrukh Khan's career, what if he was not acting in it but someone else was? Who would be apt for that role?

Rajnikanth:)
Remember that SRK took a gamble. It was his first film and he had to play a negative role and not the usual hero role. So Rajnikanth would not be apt.

Rahul Roy: He had everything: Personality, looks, intensity, acting chops, great dialogue delivery.

I think Ranbir kapoor or Imran khan would have been the best choice

Maybe not his first, but that is the movie which I remember when I saw SRK first and I think that movie turned his career around or rather launched it.

I am confused.

What is a real question?:dontknow:

Because the other thread meant for replacing Paresh Rawal. Not the career turning point. Role suitability was the question.;)

An actor whose career to be turned around? OR just in general any actor to be fitted in that role?

At that point in time, there were only two guys who could have possibly done that... Anil Kapoor & Govinda:D....Akshay kumar, Sallu, Rahul Roy, Vivek Musran, Kamal Sadana, Aamir were all relatively newbies....Sanjay Dutt was locked up..so only these two could have done it:D....Jackie and Sunny would not fit in the chocolatey hero cum villain role as they did not have cute chocolatey hero persona...Chunky was in self imposed exile until his return with Aankhen:D.

Aaditya Pancholi? Don't like him much, but if we are considering only the actors of that time..Among today's crop- anyone. People don't have much problem doing negative roles these days.

no one...thats why i rate shah rukh as a great actor.

the way he murders innocent people in the film ,but still manages to win our sympathy is one of the great acting performances of all time....only shah rukh could have managed to pull it off convicingly.
