hello

I came across this site searching for the art of living philosophy; more with an indian approach and style. I believe in "NEW AGE" kind of ideas but I dont see much discussion on your site besides some old discussions;

would want to participate and hope to see some interests from new friends around here

Welcome buddhusen!

(P.S: I am welcoming myself here, so that you dont have to type this new sentence again and again. I hereby and thereby consider myself to be welcum'ed:D)

Art of Living is nothing but yoga exercises for those who can afford paying that bearded Sri Sri Shankar guy.

What's there to discuss?

My eldest chacha just died of a road accident in Sagar (M.P.). He was out for a trip to the local bank and had called home (in Sagar) to ask whether he needed to bring some mangoes from the market. On his return trip on his moped, he was run over by a bus close to his house. One of the tire just ran over his neck and he died instantly (I hope).

I am not feeling miserable. But I do feel from time and again that there is something that we are supposed to do such that we transcend death while we are alive. It is not good to wait for death to hide upon us and catch us offguards ... not good ...we should wake up!

The thing is, brother, that our family is scattered all over the globe, and people get an opportunity to get together during these two occasions : death and marriage. I am feeling miserable for not being there now.

When is the terwa (thirteenth day), or whatever day you observe ?? You should go there, unless it is besna on the 2nd or the 3rd day. Chacha is a very very close relation.

We had a thread here where some member recounted how, when someone close to him died, he didn't call them and didn't attend the last rites etc.. though he was mourning the dead one.

I feel sorry for the accident and the gruesome mode of death...death is inevitable. Even if you transcend death...your body has to perish somehow.

As for your philosophical attempts to awaken everybody around you....that is foolish and pathetic:D:D:D....akin to 2012 scaremongering:D

scared we are ... no doubt ... so that I dont need to work upon. The next step is to used this fear and take the next step and ask "How can I transcend my death?, who is this who dies and who is this who is living? Who am I?"

Did you find a job yet .. You can transcend later ...

BTW the universe wastes nothing . You will get transformed into something else ...

Are you talking about being independent consultant?

Is being a consultant better . I mean does having good exp on resume help with the negotiations?

With H1B, there is not much leeway into being an independent consultant, only after a GC or a citizenship does it really start panning out ...

either way, jobs are there in the market both through contracting or employee-full-time.
