Folks,
I have been reminding a lot of you to not upload images here but to use the IMG tag to link to images hosted elsewhere.
Sometimes its not possible to provide a link. Well, so here is a way to upload your images up for free and then use the link in the IMG tag to show them here.
Saves us disk space.
Go to www.imgur.com and register. Its free. Upload your images and it gives a nice shortened URL to be used in posts. Infact it gives a ready made vBulletin compliant IMG tag which you can simply copy paste here.

I have a suggestion and a concern.
Suppose if we were to create a 'ECHARACHA ALBUM' at link you have provided?
LM forum is the most prolific occupier of disc space ... isn't it? Can members use IMGUR to upload images with links intended for LM forum? I doubt it.
Few members are taking a great deal of trouble in keeping LM alive and active. While appreciating their efforts ... Sutradarji, you perhaps could request them to be a bit more discerning and selective?

Okay I just deleted or removed 20+ attached photos of 100KB or more each ... all mine.
Sutradarji ... we had a server problem in 2006 ... almost 50% of attached photos in various threads disappeared. How come attachments are still there occupying space but no photos?

we have had an explosive growth in number of threads and posts in the threads. Recently attachments started popping up on the disk space a lot.

I dont have much idea on "site hosting" but is disk-space not very cheap these days?
There r have 120 GB flash drives available for few thousand bucks.
Also heard that gmail space can be mapped as a local disk using some utility.

We pay for the service of our ISP who hosts our server in their place, provides net connectivity etc.
Its not the cost of the hardware per se, but the cost of the bandwidth, the net connectivity, the security they provide, etc.

Yes there are like www.photobucket.com, etc. I just found imgur.com recently and felt it was very quick to upload photos, etc.
You are free to use any external site as long as it serves our purpose.

It sometimes happens with these type of sites, down for few hours,be careful if you are using anyother such site upload photo only if you are sure its reliable because some of them allow it to be seen by other members.

IMGUR offers you choice of private and public folders ... right? Just today ... I have posted links to some photos (of nature ... in LM forum ... please do comment) which are stored in public folder at IMGUR. Now my understanding is that members alone who visit my thread in LM forum will be able to view these photos ... no? How do people visiting IMGUR know existence of my photos in public folder of my account?

I dont know much about IMGUR,never been there but some of these picture sharing sites have search features which allow other users to search into other people albums if they r not made private,I know because I visited some these links which our LM hero Virus had posted there I could see personal photos of some members openly, not nude but photos clicked at home, occassions etc.dont remember the site now.

FAQs from IMGUR inform readers that images are nonsearchable and only appear in the galary if they are too popular and get a certain number of views in a given space of time.
How do I allow people to view my image, or view others' images?
There's no way to search for what other people are uploading, which makes everything you upload private. You choose what to make public by sharing the links to the images. Imgur is just a simple way for you to get pictures on the Internet as quickly as possible, so that you can go back to writing the blog post that the pictures will be included on.
What information about me is kept?
Just your IP address. I didn't want to do this, and it was not in the initial plans for the site, but it is necessary. If the cops start knocking on my door about child pornography, I have to tell them who submitted the picture.
Are the images anonymous?
Yup. No one will ever know who posted what. If your image becomes popular (over 30,000 views in two days) then it might be featured in the gallery (http://imgur.com/gallery) along with a link pointing back to the place it become popular. This ensures that the private image you sent to your boyfriend will never be seen by anyone else, while making all the funny images posted to reddit available for viewing. NSFW images do not make it to the gallery and stay anonymous forever.
