hey guys,
there r some really good echarchans who qualify as " defence studies especialists". this is for them
how will america attack afghanistan knowing that its one of the most isolated places in the world. only two roads from pakistan enters into afghan (one from kabul and other from quetta) and of course the legendry "khaibar pass". dont u think these will be heavely guarded.
if US tries its first attacjks with cruise missiles, "smartbombs" and carpet bombing, then what these targets will be like. of course taliban is not fool enough to still operate its terrorist camps.
as pakistan is offering just the airspace, it is obvious that they cannot put there f18, f14's (from carriers decks) to task as afghan is 600 miles from arabian sea. if they use B2, F117 bombers than who will guide their laser-guided bombs to designated targets in the absence of suitable laser painting of targets by ELITE ground troops. if however they try to use navigationsla satellites to pin-point targets than it wont be of any use since afghans have long closed their camps and other locales.
if grond trrops do enter somehow than america will suffer a lot of casualties since these terrorists r 2 good in guerilla warfare.
last but not the least will it be a multi-nation attack on mulitple targets viz. sudan, libya, palestine etc etc
technical details will be most welcome in this regard. especially abt. 5 & 7 fleet, strategic locations etc etc
