I dont know about Southern languages, but yes Hindi and Marathi already use many English words. No one says 'mej' but say 'table'. Like 'Table Kursi' and not 'Mej Kursi'.

Bhaiya mere that is how a language progresses and ultimately developes into a new language.... How do you think hindi came into existence... there are tatsam and tadbhav words in hindi... which refers to the origins of the words... It happens with every language...
See how Kundan writes english... He must be laffing at us for writing impure or bastardised version of english... That said I agree that what we speak is rather local parlance than chaste hindi..
BTW cha pai.... Mez is an urdu word...

Bhai, don't mind but do u know that, hawai (hawa) and subah are not classical hindi word. They are either urdu or arabic/farasi words ( I am not sure either, but they are definitely not hindi words).
In hindi hawa is called vayu or pawan, and subah will be bhor.
A language needs to adapt itself with time, else it cant survive. The purpose of language is to communicate, so the more words you have in it for expression the better for it. English is the most popular language in the world cause it gladly adds hundreds of new words from other languages every year. With time, you do need regular modifications in language and its good that hindi became hindustani ( a mix of hindi, english, urdu/arabic). I see nothing wrong in it.
Some words like 'computer' are used in Hindustani as 'hindi' words. Do you know whats the shudh hindi or marathi for it ? In sanskrit computer is called 'sangadak' but why would someone use that word? Just to trouble others?

aeroplane is called 'vayuyaan' and if you want to use it in classic hindi than you can say 'meri pune se delhi ki 'udaan' subah saade saath baje hain aur main vimantal/vayuadda che baje tak pahunch jaauga'
subah- pratahkaal/bhor
p.-s I feel even 'udaan' must be urdu or sth

Yaar haath kangan ko aaina kya..look everywhere even at your ownself no one speaks pure Indian languages. Aur gussa to tab aata ha jab hinidi vaakya (sentence) me public english verbs use karta hai and aur vo ekdam normal feel karte hai. Nouns fir bhi maaf kar sakte hai.. lekin kriyapad ko badlna matlab bhasha ka face transplant karne waali baat ho gayi..
After living in truely english speaking country I feel ashamed to be making our language handicapped by taking help of words from theirs. We think we Indians can speak english but we can't. But if you think deeper it's us, people who speak contaminated language are mentally handicapped. Really it's very challenging to learn to speak clear and SIMPLE hindi in daily life now. It something that we have to adapt as a society. Speaking contaminated language should be socailly unacceptable just like walking nude in public is unacceptable behivor. Speaking incorrect hindi is a different story it. I think British occupancy and so called socially higher classs are responsible for this mess.

It's a shame as my German collegues easily get a drift of what we are speaking about even when we do not want them to understand anything.
They said that you seem to be firgetting your languages. But when they speak amongst themselves they dont use a single English word.

Or one can say the whole sentence in english.... like..... What does it go of your old man?...:D
I dont find people talking in mixed language annoying....but people unable to speak/comprehend proper basic hindi(not sanskritised) do annoy me.... like if "paintees" (35 not underwear:D) comes into conversation...they would ask, "How much is 'paintees'"?.... and they can speak fluent english and somehow be proud of their crappy hindi.....
Saying all that I admit my hindi is no longer as good as it was 12 years ago...mostly due to non-usage.... I still try to keep in touch by reading novels...etc.... sometimes when I write in hindi(Devanaagri) I realize how less often do we get to write hindi....

In Telugu at least I don't feel embarrassed to say "Nenekke vimanam udayam 9 gantalaki bayalu derutundi" or "Udayam 9 gantalaki vimanam ekkali".
Also I won't feel much to say what you said in Hindi, it is as bad as we would make of it. A language is a language, learn it like a child - free your mind and be open.
