Guys and Gals,

I need some urgent help. I have my birth certificate in Hindi. But I need notarized and English translation. Does anyone knows if Indian Consulate provides that services? Or does it issues Birth Certificates?

If you send your passport to your local consulate, they will issue you a BC. I did it once and it was accepted by USCIS.

Find out a Desi who is Notary. There are some around. Check with some local desi grocery store owner or Travel Agency. They might know someone.
Where are you though? I know one in St Louise.;)

Best thing would of course be to ask an immigration lawyer. But before you do that (i.e, spend a few bucks) post a question at immigrationportal.com.

If you have anyone here in India tell them to get you a fresh copy of Birth Certificate, its computerised in most places and in english and hindi and you get it the same day in most places

Not sure how much time you have when you say its urgent. If you have at least a weeks time, get someone (if they are in your place of birth) to go the local municipality office and place a request. They will re-issue your birth certificate the same day in English. They will need your original certificate though, so maybe it would be a good idea to fax a copy.
I got mine done in Hyderabad that way, so i think any other city should not be any different.
