Either you are yanking our chain or you are plain dumb. If you say you are an Indian - and a patriotic one at that as per your own statements - then I am sure you must have heard Hindi news on TV or radio. You must have heard the word 'charcha' atleast once in your lifetime. Even if you are from a southern state like Tamil Nadu where Hindi is not taught in schools as a required language, I am sure even a Tamilian has heard the word charcha in his/her lifetime.

So just to play along with you and humour you, let me describe the word - charcha means discussion.

One question - Are you of Indian origin but born and raised in the USA?

If yes, then I can understand you might not have had an exposure to Hindi necessarily.

I'm born in Andhra Pradesh. But we moved to the United States when I was 8. Truely speaking, I've never heard this word ^^ mostly because I didn't watch news back then... In telugu 'dicsussion' is: 'charchinchukotam'

that makes sense now... 'charcha'
