दिल्ली, 16 नवंबर: ऑस्*ट्रेलियाई क्रिकेटर मैथ्*यू हेडन द्वारा भारत को तीसरी दुनिया का देश बताये जाने के एक बयान पर पाकिस्*तान क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्*तान वसीम अकरम उन पर बिफर पड़े। अक्रम ने इस बयान पर गहरी आपत्ति जताई है।
अकरम का मानना है कि हेडन का यह बयान ऑस्*ट्रेलियाई टीम की बदमिजाजी का नतीजा है। इसमें हैरान होने वाली बात नहीं क्योंकि हारने के बाद ऑस्*ट्रेलियाई टीम ऐसा ही व्यवहार करती है।

मीडिया से बातचीत के दौरान वसीम अकरम ने कहा कि आस्ट्रेलियाई टीम जब भी हारती है, विपक्षी टीम के खिलाफ अनाप-शनाप बयानबाजी करती है। अकरम मानते हैं कि क्रिकेट की दुनिया में ही नहीं, भारत असल में एक महाशक्ति बन चुका है।

अकरम: भारत एक महाशक्ति है। यह आस्ट्रेलिया से सौ साल आगे है। भारत के सामने आस्ट्रेलिया एक गांव से अधिक कुछ नहीं। ऐसी स्थिति में इस टीम के लिए हमारे मन में दया होनी चाहिए। अकरम ने कहा कि यह नई बात नहीं एलन बॉर्डर के समय भी यह टीम ऐसी ही थी।
