Pop singer Adnan Sami accused of fraud

A case of fraud and breach of trust has been filed in Indore on Wednesday against Pakistani pop singer Adnan Sami and two of his associates.

A police team from Indore has already left for Bombay to arrest Sami and his two associates, Harsh Mandle and Shilpa Naik.

Gautam Raghuvanshi, who had engaged Mandle to approach Sami and Shilpa to perform at the three-day GS garment fair in April 2002, has filed the case.

Raghuvanshi claimed that he had given a cheque of Rs 2,50,000 and Rs 7,48,000 in cash to Sami for the proposed performance.

He said that Sami has now refused to perform, nor has he given an alternative date.

He claimed to possess receipts to prove the payments.

Indore Superintendent of Police S S Thakur informed rediff.com that prima facie there is enough evidence to arrest the pop singer.

The police have filed a case under section 420, 406 and 14 of the Indian Penal Code.

Thakur said the transactions were made through Mandle and Shilpa.

Interestingly, Sami's recording label, Magnasound, was also involved in the transaction, Thakur said.

Yaar pathar phenk ne ke pahle nishaana to theek se sadh!! Indore is in MP.. Bhilai is in chattisgrah. And Indore is much closer to delhi than bhilai.

THe reason adnan saani refuses to sing in indore is because he is outdoor kind of person , likes to sing in barssat etc. Kafi lift mil gayi hogi ab to.

Is that's the difference you call spade a spade...well I know very well about geographia of M.P. and chattisgarh..what I meant was locally the person incharge must have some stories behind him...if you are a local check out the news paper..and I guess The newspaper in circulation in bhilai and Indore must be same/similar versions.....
