Fed Cuts Rates Quarter-Point, Ready to Do More

The Federal Reserve on Tuesday cut interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point, its seventh rate reduction this year, and signaled it was poised to do more to bolster a flagging economy. The Fed action brought the federal funds rate, a benchmark for short-term lending rates throughout the economy, to 3.5 percent, its lowest level since spring 1994.

Is this good or bad? Last time they cut the rate by just a quarter point, the Wall Street saw it as a good sign as they interpreted this cut as positive. I mean they thought that this was good as the FED did not think that the recession was still on in fulls wing...

Read my posts before passing a judgement. I have clearly said that I do not claim to be an economist nor do I have delusions about being one. I say what I infer from overhearing conversations. You just seem to have a huge grudge against me, which you want to vent somehow. It seems the first analytical comment I made about you about being pseudo really did hit home.

Secondly nobody is inventing careers nor bragging about it here. I have a right to feel proud of my dad - he rose from a very bad situation in life which was thrust upon him since early childhood and went to become a Ph. D in Statistics and Economics. He is my inspiration to succeed in life. He is the driving force behind my aims and aspirations. If you heard his life hsitory, you would know what I am talking about. He is 60+ today and he did all this when there were no government subsidies nor reservations. I usually go to the last post of a thread to quickly see what is going on. Now I saw that wife beating thing and instinctively asked what does wife beating have in common with Fed rate cuts. So it was not about getting pissed off by videsee.

Whether videsee is a 90 year old man or a 25 year old college kid does not matter to me. I find him quite intelligent and cool.

ENRI, you too seem to be a cool dude but feels like you have something to say and are not saying it or are unable to say it without being a little harsh about it.
