Bombay Duck is a marine lizardfish from southern Asia, particularly abundant in the Ganges Delta and the Arabian Sea of western India. The ordinarily small fish is split, boned, and sun-dried, and used as a condiment.

Favorite was the fresh bombla made Manglorean style ...put it under a stone....remove the excess water abd then coat with maida and crisp fry!! OH YAAR........mooh main paani!!:D :smash: ;)

i found an open wholesale fish market, just like in India. I will try there too. At least I found Butterfish which is equivalent to the Indian pamplet. Fried it with masala on a taava and enjoyed it with beer.

Arey bhai, bombil fry is a reallyatsty dish.

When the fish are fresh, you can frythem just like pompfret and they taste marvellous. When you dry them, the curry you can make is also great. Yeah, the stench the dried variety makes is aweful but once you start eating it the smell does not matter.
