I have been a Dale Brown reader for more than 15years. His books have always gripped me as it involves aerospace technology that is dear to me.

I recently started reading his Dreamland Series of books and they too are compelling. The good thing about Dale Brown is that he is a US Air Force (now retired) B1-B Bomber Pilot, so he goes into the very depths of flying and ATC chatter which some people might enjoy (like I do) and for some, it will be a total bouncer.

Another thing good about him is that he knows the world politics and always portrays India in good light and always puts Pakistana and China in a nuclear proliferation club.

In fact in one of his novels (Shadows of Steel) he openly talks about Pakistan supplying nukes to North Korea and China supporting it. In another book (Battle Born) he talks about China supplying nuke technology and sea based weaponary to Iran. So anyways here is his book which I just finished.

I would rate it 4/5 since he talks a lot more about naval weaponary which is not that much of an interest to me but still keeps you at the edge of destruction.

The book revolves around India being attacked by several terrorist cells.

An Islamic terrorist cell conducts covert attacks in the Arabian Sea. Targeting Indian ships and oil facilities, and escaping into thin air. India suspects that their long-time enemy Pakistan is behind the attacks and tensions between the two nuclear powers reaches breaking point. Meanwhile, China is is drawn into the mix when one of its ships is mysteriously attacked. An all-out war between the three countries appears imminent unless the Dreamland team can find out who is really behind the attacks and stopping it. The books is nice, slow at times, but still a good read.

Another worth read is Dreamland - Piranha
In this book the Indian and Chinese navies are almost in an all out attack in the Pacific and the US has to use an unmanned radical bomber to stop the Chinese attack which could also bring US into an all out war which would result in innocent civilians getting killed.

Both are good books - 4/5 for both.

How difficult is the airforce lingo? I usually read Sydney Sheldon, John Grisham or Jeffrey Archer ... would like to try a new author ...

Not very difficult especially if you can differenciate between b1, b2 bombers and the diff unmanned aircraft programs. You might like it. Try it out.

I was going to buy his book some while ago, but reviews on Amazon turned me off. But after reading your reviews, I think I should read it.

I think his core readers got put off becuase he moved from his usual books and started this dreamland series which now also involves navies. In fact all his previous books have shunned the Navy and revolve completely around aerial warfare. Plus he does not use the regular characters in this series. I think it is worth a read. Get it from your local library, dont buy it buddy.
