Okay, we all have had a good time bashing Islam and I too participate. Well, for one, the terrorists kill innocents in the name of Islam and its a dastardly act. I have done my fair share of bashing, vented out, lashed at some members, said all kinds of things and I DO NOT regret it. But now that the anger is vented out, its time to think a little more in a cool headed fashion.
Anyway, I am not really interested in Islam but interested in trying to udnerstand the real motivation of terror organisations like Al Qaeeda.
I think I might be right. This is not a copy paste, but my own opinion.
Who is Osama Bin Laden?
Osama Bin Laden comes from a wealthy Saudi family. He quit his family roots and moved on to become an independent 'freedom fighter' if you will.
What is Osama fighting for?
Osama does not want the House of Saud, rulers of Saudi since the beginning, to rule Saudi Arabia and control the oil wells. He wants the proverbial piece of the pie, rather the entire pie, for himself. He wants the power to negotiate with the West and oil is a pretty powerful bargaining chip.
So how can Osama really get what he wants?
Osama is following the same principles as Hitler. Hitler wanted to be a leader. He wanted power. So to get it he slowly and surely started blaming Jews for all the ills of society and dire straits Germany was in. When things are desperate and depressing, people want something which will make them feel good and make them blame the overall bad situation on something. Its human nature. Hitler was shrewd and knew what to do - blame the Jews who were well to do, not because of their inheritance, but because of their acumen at business and hard work.
Similarly, Osama is using the Koran and Mohammed's teachings to rally support for his cause - defeat the imperialist, decadent and infidel West.
Not that Koran is a nice coffee table namby pamby book. It has the right ingredients of violence and tripe to rile up even a nonchalant fellow. Osama uses this to his own advantage, by blaming all ills of the Islamic community on the 'decadent' West.
Osama has succeeded in convincing all the young Muslims that they need to pick up arms and bombs to 'defend' Islam and their way of life.
What is Osama's plan?
Its pretty simple. If you are from Mumbai or any other prominent metor in India then you have heard of the underworld and perhaps seen a gang war or police encounters. What does a underworld gang leader 'bhai' do to retain and maintain his stronghold? Terrorise the business community which is his source of illegitimate income. Fear works wonders in the underworld industry.
So Osama is like any other mafia don who wishes to spread his wings and maintain a stranglehold on much of Middle East, especially Saudi.
Now countries like France are those 'happy to be left alone' countries who will appease Osama and all of Middle East for their own monetary gains and to be left alone in Osama's 'battle with the West'.
Countries like USA are like the proverbial good guy in Hindi films who cannot take it lying down that some bad guy is out blowing up people.
I know it sounds simplistic, but think again and maybe watch The Godfather again. It all boils down to how the underworld operates.
How can Osama be defeated?
This too can be achieved and we need look no further than at the udnerworld.
.. okay.. more on this later.. have to go now... meeting time at work..
