What do people call their 'significant other'???

All my married life I have called my wife 'Jaanu' When we are fighting is the only time I call her by her name and boy does she get madder still!!!!!! Hehehehehe:D :smash: ;)

I always wondered about the term Bhagya-Vaan. Meaning "Fortunate". Heard it lotsa times in the movies, used by husbands to call their wives. So, is that guy calling his wife "Fortunate" just cos she got him as her husband? Isn't it so conceited of us males to be calling our wives 'Fortunate' just cos they got us their hubbys? :D

Or maybe she's called 'bhagyvan' because she has a good bhagya that she has brought along with her in her husband's house.

So ...

I call mine: Fire of My Loins.

Example usage: "Hey, Fire of My Loins, get me that beer, will ya?"

It works! All the time.

Sometimes, I am in a French mood. Then I will call her: mon chéri.

So do you call out like that in English... or do you translate it to Hindi before calling out:confused: Like, "Hoy, mere (lan)gotey ke aag, laa ek beer laa de... na please?"... like that:dontknow: Just trying to see which one will get a better response before I start using it too:D
