Have you noticed that two of the most powerful economies in the world - USA and Japan - have never had a woman at the helm of affairs??

Do you think USA and Japan will ever have a woman President (or Prime Minister as per Japan's system)?

This question came to mind because of another thread started here (http://www.echarcha.com/forum/showthread.php?p=308801#post308801).

Yes, unfortunately that will be the case in USA...this is because a buffoon that is in the white house is paving the way for Hillary's decisive victory in 2008.

I dont know abt. US but Japan will never have a woman at the top...they are typical asians...if u ever noticed, they hire women only in admin jobs (that too very few...hardly any women in technical positions)...the thinking is that providing employment to a man takes care of one family...

u all pussy worshipers

You are not?

BhaYa ... she is a good woman. Her chances or of any woman becoming President in near future ... very slim ... a huge number of population has veered too far off to the extreme right during Bush administration and pesially after 9/11 ... not that we do not appreciate the reasons why.

Hillary wont win. folks from her own party wont let her.

US will have a male President next time too. And here I said it .. Dont be surprised if the next President is a Republican too! Wathc how the key republicans are distancing themselves from Pres. Bush. Just wait and wathc... You might see a republican white house again. I predict a lot of frenzy and important events to occur as election approaches.

republicans are better for America as of now..as democrats would be able to counter JEHAD which is a reality..muslims have to be hunted and killed ..i mean all but we will save those 1% peace lovers and who believe live and let live

If Hillary runs for pres then the republicans will put Condi against her.

The way I see it the democrats will pitch Hillary for president and Warner as her VP. Lets see how the republicans do next year. The way the polls are showing the republicans are in a soup. The only positive thing is the democrats have no agenda either. But Warner is a great guy and he has the power to bring the party together.

It's difficult to say whether she will or won't run for presidency but what's amusing to me is the trepidation she invokes amongst Republicans.. It's hilarious to watch/read/listen to Republican's talking about her chances of running.. It's almost like they are trying to convince themselves that she'll not run. Also shows the dearth they are facing when it comes to an effective Presidential Nominee to counter Hillary...

Personally, I would like to see McCain (R) run for Presidency but unfortunately his Maverick and "Speak your mind" attitude does not always go well with both GOP and Dems...

well if you see recently republican voters opinion polls, Gov. Romney of MA seems to be heading them along with McCain. but Romney is a mormon. so i think that will certainly affect his nomination. we might see republicans going with McCain as the republican nomination. also, the immigration bill is being named McCain-Kennedy bill. that certainly will swing in some popularity for McCain. and i also think hispanic vote will make the difference. blacks always vote democratic. and hispanics havent been yet characterized as voting to any particular party. it seems 35-40% hispanics voted for bush in 2004 while less than 15% did in 2001. so these 12 million new citizens (former illegals), mostly hispanics, might swing the vote either way.

It is interesting to see why echarcha deliberately left Germany out of discussion :D:D The biggest economy from europe it seems does not count!

By the way do you know that German net exports value is greater than that of US? I'm not sure whether it is still valid for this year, but I have some figures from encarta (2004-5) which show this fact. I will give you them tomorrow. Of course comparing just net export value of US and Germany does not make sense, when we know that US has HUGE domestic market and major part of US goods and services end up here. But if you compare trade deficit US is in deeper soup compared to Germany.
