Virgin pai, when you are successful in bidding for one, let me know. I read their rules and one line about fullfilments held me back. Let me know how you make out...

Dude! what is holding you back? Is it something to do with the fulfillment of Warranty clause? I think what they mean is that if something goes wrong with the item, talk to the manufacturer directly instead of AMEX.. or do you work for any of the fulfillment providers whose items are advertised?

Batao Sane pai ..

I get tonnes of junk mail where I am offered all sort of things if I complete a few things, membership here or a credit card there... I thought this was the same when I first read that fulfillment clause... guess I am mistaken... but still will wait till somebody is happy about the whole thing...

Sane Pai .. It's going to be very difficult to be happy about the whole thing.. I am sure there are thousands poised all across US to hit the "I want it" button as soon as the time starts (btw the next bid is at 3.00 PM EST)... But it's still worth a try..

This is too much like a lottery -- why dont you guys try www.woot.com

The deals are not as good and they only sell 1 item a day, but there is a much better chance of getting it. The stuff is usually discounted 40-50% so its still an excellent deal.

Smelly, did you see the freaking big screen TV they had a few days back. It was worth the price. I order the Matrix collectos edition 10 DVD set. Will get it sometime this week. Woot has some nice stuff at times. Glad to know another woot browser outhere.

Yep - I keep a track on whats going on at woot most of the time. I think its a novel idea - like the bloggish feel to the website too. Wish they would start doing more than one item per day though - maybe one per category.

What TV was it and how much was it going for, padh pai? Is it really worth it? I will try checking it out for the next few days.

Maybe you didnt catch the drift. On Woot, the item is available for one day and one day only. And that too in limited qty. Sometimes it sells out in 1-2 hours and the rest of the day there is nothing. On other days, the item does not sell out the whole day. You can go back and look at the blogs as to what was sold in the past, but you cant buy it anymore. Sorryyyyy

Finger pai, I got the drift. What I meant was I will look at items the next few days and see if anything is interesting. But this I will do only if the product and the price make sense. If they are selling a HDTV by Advent or Onxy or some such company for 20% of the original price, I will not waste my time going to the site. If they are selling a HDTV by Sony or Panasonic at 60% of their market values, then the site may be worth it.

I looked at their blogs, they had a HDTV by Infocus but the price does not seem to be listed. Do you remember that price? Now Infocus makes good projectors, but do they make a good TV? Do not know, will have to find out.

Sane, if you looking for good and cheap HDTVs keep this
VIZIO P50HDM 50" Plasma Monitor (http://www.vinc.com/site/products/product_p50hdm.html) on your list. It's really really good for the price - around $2600. I have seen one at costco its pretty darn good. There are few smaller ones too from vizio at lesser price. Panasonic TH-42PHD7UY is also cheap and good.

Tapu pai (or tai?), looks like you did not get the drift of my post... I am not looking for good and cheap products, I am looking for the best price on a quality product... Vizio does not appear on my list of quality names... I may, though, look at the Panasonic model... Thanks for the site.
