Another Jolt To Shiv Sena - Jaidev Joins Raj's Revolt
Wounded by nephew Raj Thackeray’s full frontal attack on the Sena, Bal Thackeray will now have to brace himself for another assault. His eldest son Jaydev will join Raj in his battle against Uddhav.
Sena sources said that Jaidev always nursed a grouse against Uddhav for neglecting him for so long and Raj’s rebellion is the perfect foil for Jaidev to launch an attack.
While Jaidev never got along with either Uddhav or his father, his relationship with Raj has always been cordial, even warm.
But Thackeray has not given up hope. Today, in what is being termed as a last ditch effort, he will broker a meeting between Raj and Uddhav at Matoshree, in the hope of a compromise.
Whether Raj is willing to humour his uncle is not known — he has already spurned two calls for a meeting with Thackeray yesterday. Raj turned down the invitation, sent through Sena leader Manohar Joshi, saying ‘things had gone too far’.
The message was clear — Raj was in no mood to relent. Said a Sena leader, “Monday will be crucial in the history of our party. It will be decided on this day, which way Raj is headed.”
Raj had held a public meeting-outside his residence at Shivaji Park yesterday, where he announced his resignation.
The ageing Sena boss helplessly told his acolytes, “What can we do now? He is in no mood to listen!”
For now, neither Thackeray nor Uddhav know how to deal with the situation.
Uddhav has tried to conceal his iron fist in a silk glove saying Raj was his brother and he could not retaliate. But he followed it up saying that his position was similar to Arjun in the Mahabharata, who fought his cousins, the Kauravas – a clear hint that he was ready to take on his cousin, if need be.
Be that as it may, the Sena rank and file, affiliated to Thackeray Sr have no idea how to deal with the issue.
“No one knows what to say in front of Balasaheb. We know that Uddhav has not been able to handle the party affairs too well,” confessed a senior Sena leader.

The forceful bandh's, beating up innocent youth who come to mumbai for giving entrance exams, the hafta collection, the buyout of mill land by the same people who were supposed to protect the mill workers.....thats the gunda raj I am talking about.
Sad to say but some have blinkers over their eyes where the SS is concerned.

Jaidev is of not much consequence in Sena. He has no following and is just going for the ride to ensure a future for himself.

Good for the nation. And the best thing is that the goonda party is being dismantled by its chief himself albeit inadvertantly :D

Chalo bhai log.. Those who hate Shiv Sena are obviously Congress(I) supporters. Its okay that you guys are gloating and are happy about the problems Shiv Sena is facing currently. Its all part of the game.
But I know Balasaheb. He will overcome this.

Commies are the biggest enemies of the nation. I wish the Bengalis get the guts to kick them in the groin next year. Nobody thought that Biharis will give Laloo the stick, thankfully that happened.
Unfortunately in Bengal the alternative is worse in form of Mamta Bannerjee. At least Buddhadeb inspite of belonging to the wrong party is making the right moves in terms of developing the state.

No Mr charcha...these are not Congress supporters. They are peaceful indian citizens who dont like goonda parties, thats why they are happy. ShivSainiks were goondas who used to beat people on stations, offices, bus-stops, hotels, beaches etc etc. Obviously SS dont like non-marathi people, so they used to beat them, yeah and if they used to find a muslim, then "wo tho gaya".
According to my statistics SS have killed atleast 8372 muslims and 7185 non-marathi in last 5 years in mumbai alone. They have done 838 kidnappings of non-marathi and muslims persons. They have raped 713 women in mumbai. In last 2 elections they captured around 1032 booths and in recent Malwan election they captured 19 booths. They took some 346 Cr Rupees as hafta from local traders in mumbai in last year.
You should understand, why people are happy. They are free from goondaraj of above kind.
Congrats people !

Oh yes and they also vandalised the Mid-Day office recently. They were invoved with the Naxals unlike the Kangress in AP. You missed that one. They also are not as civil as RJD who's ruling now with the help of Kangress and trying to fight the Shiv Sena's goonda raj.
One good thing was that Shiv Sena was made to pay Rs.20 lacs for their Mumbai bandh but the Communists are not asked to pay even for their Bharat Band. End to goonda raj!

MUMBAI: Hitting back at his nephew Raj Thackeray for raising a banner of revolt against his son and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav, Sena supremo Bal Thackeray today said the organisation was "not anybody's private property."
"Those who live in the shadow of the Himalaya should not think that they are bigger than the mountain," Thackeray said in party mouthpiece 'Samna' in his first reaction on Raj's stepping down from the Shiv Sena post following differences with Uddhav.
Raj, who has quit as chief of Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena (BVS), creating a crisis in the 39-year-old party, had also launched a scathing attack on Sena Chief's son Uddhav, saying that the party was being run by a quartet of clerks.
In the editorial, Thackeray also referred to the show of strength by Raj supporters in Mumbai on November 27 and the damage done to Sena MP and 'Samna' editor Sanjay Raut's car.
"This 'josh' (passion) is missing whenever the Sena is in a crisis or when the opponents attack the party. We would have appreciated, had this 'josh' being shown against (Congress nominee) Narayan Rane in the recent Malwan assembly bypoll," he added.
"Everyone who stabs the Sena in the back should ponder over where they would have been had it not been for the Sena," Thackeray said.
Supporters of Uddhav have said that Raj enjoyed 'cordial' relationship with Rane, former Sena leader and as a result had kept away from the poll campaign by addressing just one public meeting whereas the entire Sena leadership was camping in Malwan for around 10 days.
Drawing a historical parallel to the present crisis in Sena by referring to Maratha warrior king Shivaji's life, Thackeray said, "Even Shivaji Maharaj had been worried whether his kingdom would last amid the family crisis."

Hayn?? How did you reach this enlightened conclusion? Using the same (il)logic here ..
1. Broccoli haters are obviously Republican supporters
2. Cigar haters are obviously Yankees suppporters
3. Bollywood haters are obviously porn supporters
4. Congress(I) haters are obviously Ricky Ponting supporters
..and the list goes on.
Why does hating one set of (big) goondas make one a supporter of another set of (lesser) goondas? You can still be a BJP supporter and not like the Goonda Sena, right?
Actually, all political parties suck!! Shiv Sena is special though - they are a goonda party first, political party 3rd.

Offcourse I am angry and sad at the state of affairs. And no I am not agreeing with anyone. For me Shiv Sena was, is and will aways be a great party and will always mean Balasaheb for me. Period.
I am quiet because I know that these are tough times for the Sena and I am just observing what is happening.

Dunno why I have this feeling that the SS will wake up from it's slumber and will emerge stronger in the days to come.
