Music while working

How many of you plug in earphones/headphones and listen to songs while working? What type of music do you listen to?

If your kind of music is not mentioned you could mention it in your post on this thread.

I prefer hard rock but on a low volume so that i dont disturb others. Luckily i have my own enclosed office so its quite a comfortable volume that i can play it on. I have my own radio station on Launchcast so whenever my yahoo messenger is on, i automatically switch to it. Unfortunately my choice is not in the poll. Good thread Viking.

I dont listen regulalry. However, I do listen to Howard Stern every morning till the show is over.

Then in the afternoon I listen to some music ocassionaly. SOmetimes Yahoo Messenger based launchcast, sometimes a mix of music I have on my hard disk, sometimes heavy metal, sometimes Bollywood. Nothing is fixed and nor do I listen to music everyday.

I don’t listen to music while at work. But the time I definitely switch on my system is while driving. Its mostly hard rock & at times some mellow stuff.

Our customers in UK have their local city FM station on in their shop floor for their employees to listen. A trend not thinkable here in India.

Usually I go to www.humfm.com. Nice bollywood songs, old/new/pop everything plus it is live so find it very interesting.

we have a dedicated secret folder on network where everyone dumps their music. If you are nice to admin he gives you access to that folder . Than load up itunes- add the folder to library, add my folder of ghazals and remixes ( desi) to libraray and I have access to around 500 songs.

Listen to the music when in the mood basically, but if I am listening to music work definitely gets slowed down unless I get so engrossed into the work that the music gets drowned out....so its 1 way or the other :) I guess it would depend on importance of the work being done

I listen to Linkin Park or Creed especially when I'm posting on EC. Some of the most controversial topics which has gotten you guys so pissed off are posted when I listen to some of that! :p

Generally I'm on yahoo messenger with "Launchcast" but I have a good number of MP3's as well.

When I stay late in office I prefer some hard music like rock or dance. In afternoon I prefer marathi / old hindi / light songs. If I am bored because of "no work" situation I switch on ANY music which I find. :D
