Guys, I had this question. :)

In India & other countries having coastlines, we often read news about fishermen & trawlers accidentally venturing out of their territorial waters into those of their neighbours, thereby getting caught or having their boats fired upon.

How many miles/kilometers off its sea coast can any country claim its territorial boundaries? What do International laws stipulate for boundaries of countries having coastlines?

I think it is 18 miles to 0 barrier and 25 miles for warnings to start.

thx for precise answer...it is informative for others to know that
1 nautical mile is approx 1.15 mile...exactly 1852 metres:D
