This question is about maintaining a centralized database of address book on web, be it a simple notepad.

I work on a bunch of computers, a few at home and a few at office. All these are my mainstream machines. At any point of time, I am working on a single computer equipped with all software, be Linux or Windows. I have my friends' names and contacts spread all over these 4 machines, so are app installers. I am wondering how do you all cope up with centralizing this data, especially the address book. Is there a way on web where i can store this stuff without making it available to 3rd parties?

Use any of your email accounts (yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc.) and almost all of the current email providers have a way of storing contacts. Add all your contacts/phones/addresses there and access them as and when you need them. Plain.. simple... easy... and free :)
