Is the revamped eCharcha.Com site faster?

That is to prevent automatic spiders and other irritating hackers from flooding the board and bringing down the MySQL database.

I disabled the prevent reply flooding option as I did not want eCharchans to wait. Also I trust our members to not flood with replies.

However, search is something which uses lots of server computing resources and a spider has brought down the echarcha site a couple of times. Some other sites on the same server have also faced this problem and the whole server used to go down.

So please wait 30 seconds for searching....

PS: I am currently building the search index from scratch. The process started at 11:00 AM today and is still continuing as our number of posts are close to a quarter million!

I cannot tell the difference.

How is it better or worse compared to old version ... too late to care.

One thing might need to be tinkered with ... wonder if software allows start a new thread from somewhere this page itsef ... I had to do extra "back" clicks to start new thread in film forum.

actually i connect to internet thru my cell phone....this is the max i get at peak-hours :down:

yaar kharcha pai....home page pe forums ke drop down menus chipkao....currently it shows the active threads and stuff...no option to visit a forum from main page.....sucks....

Definitely fast from Beijing China .............

But pages where it seems like the PHP interpreter works overtime are slow.....may benefit by tweaking php.ini
