Howdy folks....for first time in a decade (since I came to US), I have contracted flu virus (since last week)...or so it seems...:D. Strangely enough, I never even caught cold in last ten years...

Now the strange feature of the illness/flu is that for a week my right nostril and right eye were running (mucus and water respectively) and itching on the right side of my throat....thereafter, the virus has switched sides and now as I type I am running my left nostril and left eye...with itching in my left side of the throat.

I would appreciate if any/all of you could tell me whether this is quite normal thing to happen in the course of suffering from flu:D

As soon as I came to Michigan in September, I caught Cold & Cough within a day or so. Took Corricidin pills and Cough syrup for a few days and got better and have'nt fallen sick since 2 years. Also, I always keep in mind that there is no one close here in case I fall sick, so I try to eat well and keep fit.

I am allergic/sensitive to most medications....its the acetaminophen in Theraflu that screws up my liver:D

right now i am snacking up on raw garlic and ginger and feel better....looks like i should be normal by monday:D

once in ten years ain't bad:D

nothing works like ginger. i started drinking ginger tea every morning five years ago and since then have only caught mild versions of the flu once every two to three years.

the flu strains are such that people are knocked out for ten days at a time. i have managed to get away with mild colds so far.

adoo zindabad:up:

:D

I dont get it ... are you still taking it ... I seem to remember having read somewhere ... medication you mention has been recalled. I think so.

I dont think ginger or garlic you take today is going to make you right in a day. If you feel better ... it could just be the tea. TEA in boiled water ... few drops of lime juice for vitamin C ... no meelk.

Mere experience se bolenga to ... flu apna course to complete karenga hee karenga ... kuch bi medicine liyenga bolke. I drink 20 glasses of water if I ever come down with flu or colds. I take vitamin C and multi Vitamin tablets several times a day.
