Yes, It does. I mean EAT UP your hard disk.

No. You shouldn't delete the old ones, they are not replaced by newer ones. Newer ones are for something else.

Deleting any of them may cause your other programs stop working.

Don't u believe.........dare to try you will get list of programs that will not work after doing that.

i did, and my pc stopped working, like it would run and after the xps "green bar thing" it would not load? so i had to run in safe mode!!!!
only joking (altho PC did crash) but i didnt delete anything, what happened was that i went to microsoft's site where it checks my PC and refers me to install patches i dont have, i done that and after that my PC stopped working, so i had to run in safemode do the TROUBLESHOOTER thru help! and i found that my broadband modem is not working properly, so i had to reinstall it!

LB,
What updates are you talking about?
Upgrading from one service pack to another? Of so, at the time of
upgrade, you always have a choice whether to roll back or not.
If you decided not to, XP doesn't create $NtServicePackUninstall$
folders (which take up significant space).

However, if you are doing routine upgrades (like applying patches),
do not delete any of the files (you wouldn't even know what files
are being modified, do you?)
