i know most of you are not teenagers anymore but still to pass time and have fun do you own ps2 or xbox or game cube etc? and what are ur fave games?

I was also addicted to Dark Age of Camelot for a long time. Maybe I'll go back to playing that game again. I had a pretty good Thane character going. The game mods try to ensure that your character name sounds in place with the location and period, and does not contain any vulgar words. Naturally, I chose a fine scandinavian name for my Thane -- he's called BadaLund :D.

I used to complete Prince of Persia (first part) in 30 mins 5 years ago.

Since then, I never played computer games.

Last month i downloaded the NOLF2 developer pack and am making some changes to the game...adding a few levels of my own.

Waiting for Doom III to be out. Got the E3 demo...very buggy and crashes.

Right now playing AOE2 ...the game sucks but am gonna fish it. Right now i am playing in as gengis khan in the stage of invading china


Waiting to get my hands on Halo 2 and Half Life. What new games are echarchans playing?

I am playing Grand Theft Auto GTA III Vice City. Awesome game . M<ost fun is when you smash bikini blonde with a baseball bat. Also try pop car tyres with sniper rifle ( It is available in Nroth shore mall ).

Arey. if you visit www.idsoft.com you will realise that many of the top nothc games use the ID gaming engine to render those fantastic 3d scenes and intense game play.

how can you forget a name of product own by microsoft.. gosh!!!!!! :) anyway the name is XBOX

in terms of specifications: xbox beats PS2 and GC hands down it has fast processer, hard drive better graphics card etc (basically a toned down PC, well what do u expect from microsoft! oh it can also play dvds)
on otherhands PS2: it has no hard drive, got lots of games (can play ps1 games too, but who wud want to play them on ps2) and erm... (cant really remember the true processer speed etc... it can also play dvd
and then we have Gamecube (aimed primarily at children) so i wont go in too much depth... lol (it is good it cant play dvds the processer is not better then either ps2 or xbox (i think)
and online gming xbox and ps2 can do online gaming too!

i have PS2 but wanted to buy xbox aswell but wont (waste of money!)

dirty...wow man you brought up memories when you spoke about Zelda. We used to play it in Bombay on a 16Bit SNES which at that time was the most advanced gaming machine.


Sunit, id games do make realy good 3D games, but their game engine is not used by all gaming companies....and i know that as a fact as two big gaming companies are our clients and my company is providing them with some tech stuff.

Dirty...GTA 3 VC is good, but i somehow miss the fun of GTA 1 where you could run your car over those hare rame chanting freaks.

Has anyone played No One Lives Forever 2, In that there is a whole mission in Calcutta but the gang members are sardars.....how cal was associated with surds is alien to me....no offense meant to any sikhs here. Even Hitman 2 has a mission based in India. Looks like India is now getting on the map of gamers too.

There also is a new game out, dont recollect the name and havent played it too but in that you have to remove nukes from pakistan and north korea.....now that is a direct punch on the face for these 2 countries.

Where consoles are concerned, i prefer XBOX too to a PS2, but am not gonna invest on any console, my pc graphics on my ati card rock plus i have a super fast rig so why invest on another box.

dirty, i have enjoyed playing zelda on my nintendo console. solid game, man, solid game. in fact, my son wants the gamecube just for the newer version of zelda but i have persuaded him to go for the ps2.

well iem not into gaming much...but these r the games i play once in a while..i love simulator games :)

F-22 air dominance fighter
F-18 hornet
USNF'97 ( US Naval fighters)
F-15 eagle

iem also trying to understand this new game ' SUB COMMAND' by EA/ janes sports, i suppose....itz abt. controllin submarine....guidelines r quite eloborate so i've given up for time being.....i can just screw a submarine with a torpedo n take out a land target by a tomhahwak by defining right co-ordinates...goota learn n understand countermeasures n sonar completely

other games include

IGI (iem going in)...i strongly recommend it for some good timepas...

i want to buy MS Flight simulator..but itz too heavy on my pockets right now...may b next yar ;)

n i play al these games on P-4 machine with a AGP card n 17" monitor n quake n USNF on network (some 5-7 classmates on a mission)

1. i am not sure because i didnt look at the games published for any console until i bought ps2 quite RECENTLY (so i cant compare the games quality of PS2 and Xbox) but if Xbox has superior graphics, processor one would expect it to beat PS2? whatever happens i think PS2 and xbox are the main contenders of gaming industry now, gamecube sadly, may well go down as sega did. (just why dont they develop games for other console is beyond my imagination!)
2.again i havent played on xbox so i dont know the game play, but what i have read so far is that if a game takes advantage of xbox speed and graphics then it can beat PS2 hands down, most games that are published on multi-formats (i.e. ps2,xbox, pc and game cube) the magazine rate xbox version of the game the best in most cases...
3.i do think xbox is better i shud have bought it.

if there are people who are considering buying a console, check which console ur friends or cousins have then buy a diff console to that so you two will have TWO diff games to play with instead of two of the same. nice idea huh? then you can make up your own mind as to which console is better?

Try the JetFighter 4 Fortress america .. pretty cool. If you can, then get the MS Sidewinder force feedback 2 joystick to play it on and a 3D 128MB 8X (system board should be 8X AGP too) AGP graphics card with directx9.0 support.

Yaa but the "rudders" do not have force feedback.. without that the realistic feeling is not complete. Dunno why they cannot make that.. it should be easy!!!

I got 2 of these yokes.. one about 200$ worth and one FAA approved about 2500$ with rudder.. even that one does not have force feedback on the rudder :rolleyes:

Some names I recognise are Sega, XBOX, PS2, GameCube.

Can you tell me what are the price ranges for these? Which is better and why?

I have a version of the original Legend of Zelda for my GameBoy Advance. :) It's the same 8-bit graphics, except that it now runs on a handheld device. That game still rocks!

i haave briefly mentioned each ones specification in my post.
overall xbox s best, PS2 is in the middle and gamecube is the lowest (just cuz GC is lowest dont mean it is bad just that its not as good as the others)
if u want some specific info then ask me.....
there are more developers for PS2 i think, the one reason it is good is cuz u can play ps1 games so if u like street fighter series (which i do) u can buy all the prevous games... i wish nintendo had done this with their SNES, N64 and game cube...
as for SEGA it isnt making any consoles instead it is making games forother consoles..

pelu bhai ... u are either a flight sim maniac or a very rich man ... ummm or both!

I never quite realised much ForceFeedback effects in the games I played lately.. guess I get the jarring only when stalling (or crash :D), rudder is a far cry. guess the engineers give much more attention to getting the 3D vector graphics right than the FF commands (how many people would go for FF joysticks anyways)

I found novalogic games tend to have a better coding of FF. Had played their F22 Raptor back in India but had an earlier version of sidewinder then - had some centering problems. You have any suggestions on fighter craft games?
