Laptop vs. Desktop

If you're buying a new computer, what criteria do you have to take into account?
Also, would you like to share some pros n cons of laptop and desktop. Would appreciate some wisdom from your experiences.

Laptop,

Difficult to upgrade (Memory etc.)

Ofcourse more expensive than similar capability desktops. And everything about them is expensive.. if you want a pci card, it will be more expensive than a card for a PC. etc.

Also, not all of them will work with X windows when running linux unless you know how to tweek the X- setup, which is a different fun I admit:p

Does anybody have an iMac? Need some input on that one. Pros n cons. How is it more useful? Looks real neat that one!! :up:

I see Dell everywhere. Does anybody have some cool alternative suggestions which have been good for them?
