Jodi No. 1 - Govinda and David Dhawan at it again!

Recently on my trip to Mumbai, I saw the movie Jodi No. 1 directed by David Dhawan and lead by Govinda and Sanjay Dutt.

It was a blast - if you consider non-sensical comedy of Govinda as total guilt-less total timepass entertainment. I do!

I love Govinda movies for one reason - total timepass!

I have been a fan of David Dhawan movies starring Govinda because he is the one who made Govinda come out with his fullpotential of being the Hindi film version of Dada Kondke.

I know, some of you will snicker and flame me for my base tatses, but belive me, for the money and time spent watching a Govinda film - you get what you really are spending time for - total entertainment and timepass. Offcourse you have to keep your logic and other things aside for 3 hours, but then thats what I watch filsm for. Timepass. Serious films are also entertainment, but a Govinda flick on a lazy Sunday afternoon is simply great!

Anyways, Sunjay Dutt also has improved in this film since his last film with Govinda - Haseena Maan Jayegi.

Some of the situations and dialogues in Jodi No. 1 are simply funny. Especially the commode with a bomb scene. Though it originally appeared in one of the Lethal Weapon series, Govinda really adds a new spice and comic angle to it.

I still cannot get over his first hit comedy film Aankhen which I still re-watch sometimes. :D

Sutredharji....u are right. No matter what people say, i love govinda....he is one person who can make u laugh no matter in what mood u r in. Whenever i am bored or in a bad mood, i switch on coolie no 1 or hero no1. His nonsence comedy just relaxes you. I love govindas movies....unfortunately, i will never be able to wear his type of clothes.......my family would disown me.

Compare Govinda with Sharukh,
That Gay and proud Sharukh Khan,he thinks he is the ultimate and laughs on other actors.
All of his succesful movies have been Yash Chopra
and Subash hai Flicks.
Leaving Baazigar all his movies have the same story.
He acts as a a Wife steals.
Heroine is getting married to someone and this bastard snatches the heroine away from the other actor
and the Indian audience going ga ga over this.

Akshay Kumar,Govinda have not acted with top banners still they manage to survive.

Any news about the latest Govinda and Aishwarya Rai starrer ALBELA ?

I want to know about it... anyway, being a true Govinda fan I have to see it - whether good or bad.

In the recent times, th eonly Govinda movie I hated was "Shikari" made by N. Chandra who it seems was lucky only with Tezaab!

Saw it....total timepass!!

Albela...is total timepass especially govinda immitating the verse "Who let the dogs out". I was in splits.

Scenery of Mauritius & Austria is awesome. Aishwarya & her dresses are beautiful.
Govinda (a fatso) acts silly & has applied quite a lot of kajal & make up.:rolleyes:

Why doesnt he start his own designer label complete with accesories and other apparel related paraphernalia....I mean even coolie's will become brand conscious

Since Albela has a recommendation from atleast on eCharchan, I must now see it as soon as possible.


I still laugh out loud at the Jodi No. 1 dialogue said with that special sheepish look by Govinda about Sanjay Dutt's body -" yeh body na solid hain. Police ke dande toot jaate hain, leking party nahin hilti" :D

Also the other one - "Yeh pehla exchange offer hain jaha 14 inch color TV ke saath 36 inch ka TV muft mil raha hain" :D :D :D :D

I freak out on the "Kisi Disco Mein Jaaye.. Kisi HOtel mein khaaye" with Govinda and Raveena.

The expressions on Raveena and Govinda's faces when they make that funny "uhu uhu" sound after every senetnce are really hilarious :D

So do you dance with the same expressions???so how many times do the paramedics get called by your neighbours then???but honestly they are just the way expressions should be...in fact if you observe people dancing in reality like in marriages expressions are even more dramatic....especially after a few red labels
